I have an 03 ZX6rr that wont start. I am not getting spark. I have pulled the #2 plug and grounded it to the frame and no fire, but very intermittently I will get spark and it will fire. I have check all connections, remove my Power Commander and nothing change. Any ideas to what Im overlooking?

first take the #1 coil pack and swap t with the #2 and then ground out the # 2 plug and see if you get good spark ...if so then you know its the coil thats now in #1 thats bad......but if you get the same thing when swaping coils then check the inside of all the conections AND GROUNDSand let me know

dont know if it the same but i had a problem like that with my f4i
my problem was the tip sensor that was located in the frount farring i took it off to do a moter swap and forgot it was conected to it...

2 cheak fuses
3 all grounds

Does your bike have a bank angle sensor like Honda's. I'm not sure as I don't ride kawi's, but if it does check that.

I will try swaping them, as far as the tip over sensor its different from the honda and I haves done anything to it. and the PC3 i removed it and ran the factor plugins and nothing changed

OK I gounded the plug with the #1 coil on it and still no spark. Someone mentioned a fuse but it cant be that because It will intermittently get spark and fire up. Where would I look for grounds other than the battery obviously?

do u still have gauges? and the clutch switch on the lever? have u done any work on the bike? worked under the gas tank or anything?

I mounted the guages under the tank because its streetfighter, and I did the kleen air mod on the bike, and the left side controls are removed.

clutch switch has nothing to do with it if it fires up some times...just to be sure check where you sniped the wires for the sensor and make sure there not grounding out on anything..........has the bike been wrecked??? if so you might have a break in your harness from it getting pinched between the frame and engine in the tumble...check cont on all the ground for the coil packs

I wrecked the bike last year, lowsided it but at the time It was FF, hasnt even left my garage since I mounted the guages under the tank, how do I check the continuity of the coils? And the Tip over sensor on a kawi cant be cut like a honda, right now I have done nothing to the sensor

did it go down on the right side? if so check the wire going to your crank position sensor.

also if your kickstand or clutch switch are messed up it will cause the bike to shut off = no spark.

It went down on the left side but I drove it home when i crashed. Clutch switch is removed and the kick stand shouldn't let it even turn over and the bike is in nuetral.

you gotta follow the ground wires from the coil pack clips ....follow them till the next plug and unplug the plug...then poke one end of your tester on the coil pack side plug and one probe on the other unpluged plug ( same wire colors....if you get ofl on any of them theres your problem...if not then go from the 2nd upluged plug back to the next plug and reapeat the steap until you het to the ecu....kinda a pain

make sure side switch workin, have neutral light, kill switch (above start button), and ther is a "ignition" fuse, its in fuse box, check ground on coils, see if yur gettin any power to coils when spining engine over...

ok you said it was full farring before did it run after you took off the farrings cuz the tip sencer i beleave is mounted to the frount farring behind the light... if you took the farrings off to stunt it and it wont run after you mounted the gadge under the tank like you say you took the sencer off when you took off all the frunt farrings

is the fule pump kicking on when you turn the key on?????

sounds like a loose ground. check ground to all your coils.
