the bullshit that ikept hearing was that it was based off of a $35 admission fee for the three days so they fucked u unless u were there for all three days..

I feel your pain, but it could be much worse. Yeah the spot they gave riders to video from sucks *** and from that spot, the footage is 99% useless. We are lucky they allow us to film anything. Stuntwars is one of the biggest stunt events in the world. Other big organizations dont allow video taping at all. Have you ever been to a moto gp, ama, supercross, arenacross race, monster jam, xgames, etc show? They own all filming rights and dont allow you to record anything unless you have proper credentials!
It's great to see guys like Dan attempting to get understanding on this point for everyone... This happened to me last year so i understand but (it is what it is). it's a difficult situation at times but very true.

I was going to try to explain this but its going to take too long and hardly anyone would read a long *** post anyways.
basicly, you guys are idiots and they are not gonna let everyone and their mom go in there and film.
if you dont have a media pass, you aint filming from a good area. XDL is the same way. otherwise youre standing with the fans.
and to be pissed off cuz someone paid money to go watch you ***** in a competition and then you wanna stand in front of him to film after he's been sittin there for the past few hours??? youre lucky he didnt punch you in the face.
While judging XDL last year, I couldnt tell you how many times we had to tell people to get off the wall cuz "riders" wanted to get the best footage of their friends cuz they were blocking our view. We didnt need to get bitched at cuz a rider blocked our view and we miss a trick or error that cost someone 1st place or something.

So, another stuntwarz has passed and more people are pissed off. There are various reasons for this anger, and here is mine. I know this will sound like a rant, and some of you dbags will say i'm wining and yada yada, but I don't really care.
The seed of my hatred began when my when my teammate, Sick Trick Rick, made it to the finals of the endo comp. Naturally, I was ecstatic for him, but when I tried to get some video footage and pics, for our future video, I was a little less enthusiastic.
I was wanting to go down into the pits so I could get the best footage possible. I was told that wouldn't happen and then I went around asking people like guru and mikey Nicely if there was any way I could get down there. Of course they said, good luck, but I doubt it. I was informed that I had to apply for a media pass MORE THAN 3 MONTHS in advance. I don't know if they charge for it, but like everything else involved in stuntwarz, I'm sure preference would have been given to the people that can financially benefit stuntwarz the most.....so **** the little guy, being me!!
Because I couldn't go down in the pits, I tried to ride the fifty up to the grandstands to get footage. Just like the kid who got escorted out, I couldn't take my fifty in. So, I get up on the gate and get some shots of the endo practice. Then a security guy tells me I cant stand on the fence or in front of the bleachers and that I have to stand behind the SIDEWALK. As you can imagine, standing behind a pathway constructed for peope to walk on, isn't the best spot for a man with a camera. More than 100 peope walked in front of me in a 2 minute period. Not to mention, I was filming a rider 500 feet away, through a fence, at this point.
Then, I move to where I can actually videotape, and some jackass wining about how he paid too, is telling me to get out of his way. I then move down the way, in between the bleachers, and a douchebag sitting in a ******* kawasaki mule, says, "I've been here for two hours man, could you move?" I pretty much turned around and gave him a peice of my mind. (sidenote: I couldn't have a fifty up there, but a four seater kawasaki mule is OK....wtf?????) Finally, some cool people in the bleachers said I could sit there and video my teammate for his 4 minutes of fame.
Bottom line is Stuntwarz doesn't give a **** about any others involved. They are worried about making money, and that's it. I know the object of business is to make money, but when THEY GET ON THE MIC AT THE END OF THE DAY AND SAY THEY APPRECIATE EVERYTHING AND THIS IS ALL FOR THE RIDERS AND THE PROMOTION OF THE SPORT, that is BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!

no **** its all about MONEY. Loook at all the so called "pros of the sport" Yes they are good at riding but inmy opinion theres as many averga joes out there that are just as good. I think this sport is kinda whack because it really isnt about riding. Its a show. You perform to peoples likings and have to kiss alot of *** which some of these talented riders are willing to do. I cant stand to "kiss ***" Im the type of person who thinks respect is earned not given and doesnt matter who you are. Everyone deserves reespect from one another and that is not how it goes in the stunt game. But i do give credit to all the people out there doing it.

The $5 was ADMISSION not rider registration, and if you guys would read the STUNTWARS rules it states:
Rider membership available for $40 this gets you in the event and signed up for the individual freestyle event for each StuntWars event for the 2009 season.
Registration and Sign up per Class $40 per event and $100 for team Event.

I can understand the frustrations of people not being able to film but common sense goes a long way!!!!!! In October (Stuntoberfest, which is a much smaller event) there was much more freedom in riders, the media list, riders girlfriends, riders camera guy, etc. to be in the infield and it turned into complete craziness. Major media were unable to get important shots because people were in the way, judges were having a hard time seeing, camera people that were there to "just film their buddies run" ended up trying to stand down there all day long then giving security and attitude when they came by for media pass checks and asked to leave. If you were listening, on Sunday RayRay constantly had to yell at what media that was out there. Imagine if there were more. It’s a lose-lose situation. You completely accommodate the riders and have them let whoever they want down there then you lose your media because they are pissed they cant get the shots and everyone is in their way. SW loses! You tighten up on security keeping the infield to the necessities or somewhere close to it so that media with confirmed credentials can get the shots they need and everyone complains they cant come down there and film their friends. Again SW loses! In an unrealistic world, riders would be allowed a gf or wife and a camera person during their run and then exit the track immediately following that run for the next riders guests but that doesn’t happen!!!! It was proven in October! I haven’t even touched on liability and insurance issues! Think about it!
If you don’t keep media satisfied there is no media coverage, without media coverage there are no sponsors, if there are no sponsors this event and sport will take 15 steps backwards. If you are the type that does care about the event and sport getting more and more sponsors and growing to a truly profession level this would all be understandable, if not then why are you at SW and not just riding in a lot somewhere?
All of you always say its about the money……………. How is this about the money? If it were about the money Todd could make himself the only one out there with a handycam filming every ones run, burning it a disk and selling it for $20. Instead Todd thought about the riders and had SW pay8 camera men, pay for a lift thing for some cool shots, pay for over 40 tapes, and is going to be working his *** off to make a dvd that will keep everyone happy and give everybody the recognition they deserve for all the hard work that they do.
If everybody would work with SW instead of against it things could go a lot smoother. For those of you that feel you should have been given a media pass and weren’t please consider the fact that there were between 25 and 30 media that were accepted and every single one had very credible credentials. Its not a personal matter it’s a professional decision. As for people not being able to use SW footage in their own videos isn’t the issue at hand because that does only promote the event. Its an issue of room in the infield and safety.
