Stand Up, CLutch Ups

I just cant seem to get the hang of them. I can stand up and power all day long and it doesnt bother me, but when i clutch it up i feel like im going to fly off the bike. I stand on the front pegs also. I try getting close to the tank and as the bike comes up i raise up, but just cant get it . Anything im missing.

Re: Stand Up, CLutch Ups

Try slipping the clutch with one finger, that way you can still grip the clip on with three and you'll feel more solid.

Re: Stand Up, CLutch Ups

are you clutching it up with one or two fingers, or do you use your whole hand to work the clutch? Thats the only way its different and would give you that feeling opposed to powering it up. My buddy could power but not clutch standups, we ended up adjusting his clutch lever down some (almost below the bar) and he said it helped him feel more comfortably standing and working the clutch.

Re: Stand Up, CLutch Ups

i thought a clutch was used for shifting gears not wheelies, this is confusing for me,

i just bring it up to 5000 rpm lat of the gas preload the front forks and pin the throttle comes up everytime, but i run out of gear real fast... is this why u guys put big sporckets on ur bikes for more top end???

how do u use a clutch for wheelies?

Re: Stand Up, CLutch Ups

i had the same problem and what they said is very true it jus takes some gettin used to. use one finger. what helped me a bit was clutch it from a sit down then stand up as its comin up kinda helps with the feelin of fallin off but if you use one finger an cover ur break the feelin will go away eventually

Re: Stand Up, CLutch Ups

also once your up at bp bring your clutch fingers off the clutch if your gonna ride it out for a long time. My hand would always cramp goin down the highway if i left a finger or two on the clutch lever
