If your worried about the length of the trailer you should build it to attach to the side like a sidecar.

It's not so much the fact a moped wont pull a bike (towed my friend on his 600 with a honda elite 50cc)

But its what happens when someone pulls in front of you, and you have to break hard...

Having a heavier load then your towing vehicle probably won't always end well, especially while braking and hitting turns!
