M.F.B.T.D.R.
hahaha I love it.
so what's it going to be guys? I think Pirouette deff describes the trick, death spin, hey that works a little too but I think the general non biker mainstream public that we all strive to gain impact with wouldn't understand death spin as much as they would understand pirouette
and I will add that HELL YES this is a dangerous sport!!!!!! and yes this trick dangerous and has made me crash in many ways just like OMR said. it's taken me quite a while to get and it's very hit and miss sometimes,
some days ya got it some you don't but I would deff say it's one of those tricks like the side clutch up!! it gets your heart racing and could go wrong in so many ways at any time.
some people are getting too comfortable with this sport and are forgetting the danger that we all put ourselves in every time we ride. this trick is just another notch up our already high danger level that people in this sport don't think we have cause we are not HUGE yet. it's coming market yourselves!!!
so all the danger talk aside when I am out in the lot or at a show riding my Mother ******* Blood Thirsty Death Rocket (motorcycle for you less extremey types) and I go for this trick what is it called????

As for anyone coming into the belief that stunting isn't dangerous, I have a question for you. When was the last time you watched a squid wreck hard trying something new? Now tell me you were'nt at that stage at one point in time.... . It may not SEEM dangerous to you anymore, but remember......that's because you've spent countless hours on one wheel familiarizing yourself with the situation. As with ANY extreme sport, including FMX......if you have all the tricks in your bag on lock, and you aren't trying something radically new and different, you will rarely make mistakes. Go offer your stuntbike to some normal Joe on the street and tell him to do a wheelie. He'll either laugh at you, or.....he'll give it a shot and most likely eat **** in front of you. If you think stunting isn't dangerous.......you need to ride with more squids so you can remember the good 'ol days when stunting was dangerous...

Re: Pirouette, Death Spin... this need to be de-homo'd
Back when the trick was in its infancy Teach and I were working on a similar way to end fast circles. Teach went his way and I went mine. The “Pirouette” is what we called it. Why? Because it's safe and ballet like homo good times.
Thomas is to much of a homophobe to say Pirouette on a mic because he thinks he'll lose 10 gangster points each time he says it. And well, Thomas is OG and all, so he decided that.... “Curly Fries” sounded better, real gangster there... Just because he's always thinking about food is no reason to give a trick a retarded food name. That **** died in early 90's when snowboarding was using stupid food names for tricks.
One day he blurted out “death spin”. OK, so us as the Death Squad, Death Spin, I see where he was going with this. But this trick has NO danger to anything but the bike. How the **** is the word death associated with a hyper stall? It's not, it's not dangerous, it's not scary, it's just a very easy thing to toss in a circle set for fun. And it was really meant as a way to transition from fast wide circles to technical ones without just slowing down. Anyway, Death Spin is gay, I'm a homophobe too. I have a real hard time accepting names that make our potentially overly safe sport make us look like pussies.
It needs a new name, if everyone can't call it a pirouette like the two people who started doing it first coined it as, what then? Just not death spin, that ***** embarrassing.

Re: Pirouette, Death Spin... this need to be de-homo'd
don't know about inventing it, or when you did, but saw some old old clips of rick payne and he was doin them way way back when I just started riding, but everyone calls it a death spin. Why change it?
