I think pirouette sounds way better than death spin. Sounds like an actual trick that way.

This trick has been done forever. Ive seen people do this way back when. I used to bang these back in 05 with no foot down when doing super fast circles. Its just something that happens. Putting the foot down gives you a better pull on it though which is a sick touch on a already common thing. I remember seeing cysko from france banging them in France and I was like what the **** did he just do hahaha. Gotta love the evolution of the sport!

Yeah its been around forever. It just took some nice flare to actually get it noticed. I think the technical side of the sport has finally caught up and people can now actually appreciate the technicality of the trick which makes it that much better. Back in the day if you tried to explain this trick no one would understand what the hell you were talking about. It used to just happen and you would think wow that was sick feeling and just keep on riding hahaha

Nick was the first one to actually make it noticeable though which is as good as inventing it if you ask me. But the concept has been around forever. Even in sit downs. When you get them swinging fast you can pull in the clutch and pirouette a whole revolution which is sick as hell. The thing is though that the majority of the time it goes unnoticed because its one of those things only the rider will only actually feel. When Nick started banging them with the foot down it made it noticable that he was using force to swing the bike like a raped ape which made it look hella sick. That was the evolution on it and a sick one at that.

Mad props to my good buddy Apex for giving it hell and coming up with what I think is a nasty trick. Its really taken off. Good **** buddy

Re: Pirouette, Death Spin... this need to be de-homo'd

the KEY to making this trick cool (yes, it's been around forever, like just about everything else we do) is going from WIDE to SPIN.

super gay just dabbing the foot, pulling the clutch in, and spinning...weak sauce.

coming in hot and wide, on the edge of disaster, then tightening hard and fast is the intention imo.

i'm with nick...pirouette (sp) is what it should be called. maybe thomas is just homophobic bc he is hiding his preferences?!!

I got the idea from doing it in sitdowns on accident at first then slowly working on it to be able to do it on command. But you're right in the sense that its been done for a long time.

But the way people are doing it now, pushing off the foot and yanking the bike around, that's specifically what I was talking about. I think almost all of us that were clued into what is going on with the bike knew the concept of the trick. But throwing it as a stand alone trick as a transition piece is what I'm talking about. I'm definitely not able to claim the natural phenomenon of a spin in a stall. Just the variation you're seeing *****'d out these days is what I'm talking about. Before the last year it was just that thing that happened, haha.

Keep the names coming!

Re: Pirouette, Death Spin... this need to be de-homo'd

weather you think the name is apropriate to the level of danger or not, its a cool name, and its a really cool trick. Spectators like to think stunting is dangerous, and any of us could die at any time in a ball of flames, if not the sport would have no place in popular culture. Think what you want, but i say if someone wants to give a dangerous sounding name to a trick thats not so dangerous, so be it.
