ok, long story short, yesterday we were out on the lake ice racing, i decided for some reason to go on the old tt course we set up at the beginning of the year, so the runoff areas kinda suck, big snowbanks that melted and refroze, anyways, top of 3rd gear, come into a left hander, trail braking and using front brake, but the front slid (been battling a shitty front all year) so i knew i wasn't making it, so i stood the bike up and drove straight off, into a half frozen snowbank, ALOT deeper than i thought it was, the front tire dug in, about the 2nd tank slap launched me over the bars, somewhere's in the process my prosthetic ripped right off my leg, now my knee is swollen to hell and hurts really bad to move it....thinking and hoping it just a bad sprain, but what are some symptoms of having a ligament torn???

if it buckles when you lock it then you prob tore your acl.....besides that i dunno. go to the doc.

swelling is common with any torn or severely stressed ligament...usually acl's are from planting your foot and twisting it with a lot of weight on it.

good luck buddy, knees are no joke, my graft failed and i reruptured the ACL but it feels fine and the knee brace is keeping me riding right now...4 months MINIMUM to ride again and be safe, a year to get back to 100% for the ole acl.

my younger cousin has a prosthetic leg and it would fly off all the time when we were kids riding bmx , people would always freek out ....lol

he used to drive nails into it at partys just to see peoples reactions ...lol

i love riding motorcycles on the edge and there's really nothing that is gonna stop me from the "drug" of riding.....absolutely nothing compares to it, like i said, i'm going to the doc tom. and i'll find out how bad it is

breggs knee brace is what i have...i think it runs 5 beans. custom measured and then made to fit.

a pain but its ok and you get used to it pretty quickly. just sucks that you can hop on a bike and rip it real quick bc that's how you eff yourself up. knee injuries if not fixed can come back just walking down the stairs.

i had an excellent doctor replace mine, i followed everything to a T. 4 months later i was on the bike, a year after surgery i didnt have to wear the brace anymore...played hoops, snowboarded, anything i wanted to do. then a freak accident and it popped and then i crashed in longbeach and the graft failed...didnt tear the acl per se just tore the acl off the bone or whatever it attaches to. no pain and full movement right now, but no hoops and the brace is a must...its loose but i NEVER do antying stupid as far as not paying attention.

i still ride dirt a couple times a week i'm just conscious of not stabbing my leg down

but I always seem to get hurt more on the dirtbikes too!

You know, we are all kinda gettin older, and although my problem is severe arthritis mainly, I can't kneel for long times anymore like when I'm turkey hunting.
IT literally will feel like something is breakin deep inside the back of my kneepit with every step if I'm not careful and sit like that for too long anymore.

I torn both my ACL's. Its not fun. But when i torn them my knee would come out of socket just standing with my knees buckled. And when you sit and straighten your leg out and push your thigh one way and the lower leg the opposite, if it moves or grinds, its most likely a torn acl and or mcl. But could also be just some bad cartilidge
