+1000 those inch bolts are a pain in the *** when putting on a cage with metric tools, especialy the all thread but you have no other option, 8mm will be to small and the motor sacks down, 10mm is to big and impossible to find a socket to fit the tubes.
Guess I will buy me some inch sockets to have it easier in the future.
But once the cage is mounted itīs a tank and rock solid, 2 years of abuse and it still holds up fine.

I can look into maybe switching to metric 10mm all thread. Then 14mm socket would work..

I tried it, the 10mm all thread would be better, but itīs impossible to find 14mm nuts for it, standard is 17mm outer diameter for 10mm nuts and thatīs way too big.

edit: 14mm socket does already work with your all thread, itīs just hard for us to find something to replace it if neccessary (if you mess up the thread while installing or you want a longer one to make it easier to mount up), your all thread has 9mm or something like that and itīs not to get over here.

its impossible for the motor to sack down cause there are 3 other motormounts that bolt up to the frame, ie: swingarm, front motormounts where you also bolt the cage to and the mounts just before the cylinder, so its no problem at all if you use a 8mm treaded rod with 13mm bolts

the rear mount will be loose, that will put more stress on the other mounts, thatīs why I broke the middle motor mounts (both sides) on my 954 in one crash because the motor sacked down.

i can't see why the motor would sack down when there are 3 other motormounts that attach to the frame... the frame is solid on those 3 points... if anything could sack down the frame would come along

i'm also talking f4i here, maybe its different with the 954?

in the pic below i put a blue circel around the mount where the threaded rod goes and red circles where the other mounts go... imo there should be no problem at all if you used a smaller diameter of threaded rod as long as you tighten that sucker up good!
