Re: 2nd fan help
maybe a little but 05/06's are over heaters for sure. as soon asi start doing burnouts before all the mods it would shoot up to over 250+
then say if we were doing shows on hot days on smaller riding areas where the bike cant get good air movement ha forget about it lol.

Re: 2nd fan help
you cant just put 2 stock fans on an 03/04 636. The fan will bolt up fine to the rad. then when u go to put the radiator back on the bike, you'll see that the fan is going to hit the cam positionign sensor. I tried messed with it for a while, then gave up.
The only thing i can thing of is running a Pusher fan on that side of the rad, but that might not fit if you have full fairings.

Re: 2nd fan help
my bike runs hot all the time. i was adding supports to my radiator last week and found a 3mm (roughly) diameter pin with a spot for a circlip on the end. maybe 18mm long. the onlything i could think it would be is from the thermostat. im going to take apart my cooling system and check it out. but im hopeing thats what the problem is. a garbage thermostat or something...
so id say check that out... or if your radiator fins are clogged. or maybe your waterpump impeller is gunked up hahahaha seot i dunno.

i hardwired my 06 636 and never had a prob. to what krazyklye said my buddy has a 04 636 with fan hardwired and it constantly overheated turned out to be the theromostat was bad took it out and with the fan hooked up it doesnt go above 200 in 80 degree weather

Re: 2nd fan help
and i could be wrong but a thermostat only helps the bike warm up and when it reaches a certain temp it opens up and lets cool antifreeze in the motor so if you live somehwere warm you really wouldnt need it right?

Re: 2nd fan help
a thermostat also slows the flow of coolant down. so it stays inside the engine slightly longer. this gives it a little extra time to pull more heat out of the engine before moving onto the radiator.
Withuot it, the coolant flows freely and doesnt spend as much time in the engine, pulling heat out of it. I'm currently running without a t-stat here in maine, but im az bound saturday, and will put one back in before running the bike out there.

My is...
The best way to wire up a switch to the fan is to tap into (do not cut) the 2 wires going to the fan and run those to a switch that way even when your switch is off the bike will be able to turn the fan on when it senses it needs it. PM me if anyone wants pics

Re: 2nd fan help
Mine gets hot from drifting and sometime during circle combos. I am running gauges and if it hits 230 I do a couple laps around the building to cool it off. I gotta do this header wrap but I'm lazy about pulling off the cage, side fairings, and radiator,

Re: 2nd fan help
I run header wrap and engine ice with my fan on constantly. If you rape high idle (like me ), that isn't good enough.
The 03/04 radiators definitely have tabs to mount a 2nd stock 636 fan, but it adds a LOT of weight. You need a radiator cage to hold the whole thing. (you need a mounting cage with just one fan)
I know some of you guys have them, post up some pictures.
I'm working on one myself, I'll post some pics when I finish, but trust me, it will be ghetto-fabulous.
