F4i intake boots

Hey, my f4i was full fairing until today, I took the intake boot things that go to the airbox and now the bike is far louder as far as intake noise butttt... now there is like a bog down low in the revs (right off stock idle set at 1k) as well as some power missing down there. Is this normal? What do you street fighter guys do?

The bike bone stock engine wise (even intake filter) except for an old power commander.

Re: F4i intake boots

Ive heard and seen that some people tape up one side or both sides of the holes on the airbox My boy taped one side and said it helped the power down low

Re: F4i intake boots

if you remove the intake tubes u need to tape up one side of the airbox. my bike came with a k/n air cleaner and had no bottom end and a huge bog till i taped up one side. also make sure you run a stock air filter that will make it bog as well

Re: F4i intake boots

or you can just crunch up a small to med. sized paper bag and shove it inside one side of your airbox and see if that helps. worked for me
