going to do clean air mod to my f4i...

I got the bike apart while im painting it so i figure ill do the clean air mod to the f4i while i can get to the motor. I understand how to do it... the question is ha anyone had any bad results from doing this? And all this does is keep my motor from having the chance to hydrolock right? and when im just cruising around cause i commute with my bike as well... this is fine to ride with?
Thanks in advance

Re: going to do clean air mod to my f4i...

buy the filter and attach it to the rubber hose coming out the top of your crankcase.

cap off the air box.

simple.

Re: going to do clean air mod to my f4i...

I did it to my old f4i last month. The guy I sold it to says it felt "off" a bit up high in the rpms (again a whole new motor was swapped when I did the mod so...) but said the low end was a lot better too.

There is some other adjustments you need to do or you will lose power and it wont pull as hard on idle. Sorry I don’t know what they are , but I did it to mine and I noticed the power wasn’t the same but there is a way to fix that I just don’t know what it is , ask around. I just said screw it and changed it back to stock. good luck

sounds like you did it wrong.. I've done it to 5 bikes so far no problems! As well as dozens of other people..

If you do the clean air mod the hose is already routed to the exhaust from the crank case

Although you can use your method, and avoid the clean air mod, but when you flip your bike, oil goes pouring out the filter and all over whtever is around the filter

whereas the clean air mod just smokes
