gp tech hb sucks donkey nuts

Re: gp tech hb sucks donkey nuts
I had the gp tech set with the square resivior and had bleeding issues/lag between foot and hand. The problem was a little air in/around the adapter and foot master it squishes when you pump the brakes. I finally solved the problem by tying the caliper up by the seat and un bolting the rearset so I could rotate it and pump the the last bubbles out, then good to go. But the HB master I didn't care for.
I unbolted my rear master also, and flipped it around, just to make sure I got every bubble out
only 1 bolts, takes 1 minute to unbolt just to make sure all the air is out

Re: gp tech hb sucks donkey nuts
well... looks like you have got a bunch of advice and solutions for your problem you were having now. I'd probably try them out and see if all of the above doesn't fix what you are experiencing or not.
With all of these posts and sucess testimonies, I would say that it's most likely user/installer error... And maybe a little bit of hohey envy mixed in with it! (It's OK though.... I got it too!)

Re: gp tech hb sucks donkey nuts
This is why from the start I made my own adapters for $2, and TIG weld them onto the master cylinder...They will never leak, and then you can focus on bleeding...Then if theres a problem its not the adaptor....

Re: gp tech hb sucks donkey nuts
the ones i make are machined with such tight tolerances, no JB weld or clamps are necessary.

Re: gp tech hb sucks donkey nuts
Yup, put it on my friends bike (already got a gp tech on my bike)

Still haven't got around to trying that pedal adapter.. but I'm definitely gonna give it a whirl once I get ahold of a free bmx pedal
Dunno if you NEED a hose clamp or not, but I run one just for safety.. $1 part that COULD save you

Re: gp tech hb sucks donkey nuts
ive always used the fitting and never had any trouble if its all bled right..
also never realy wanted to use the foot and the handbrake at the same time? who does? and why?
although i would like the duel caliper kit for the 1 finger lock up but im fine without it so till i got the money to just throw around ima stick with the fitting..

Re: gp tech hb sucks donkey nuts
i have the FTI adapter and mine works fine.....solid brings me off the bar no problem.
number 2 the handbrake master guy dude said i have one of the best feeling handbrakes around even.
so i would say it is user error not bleeding it right.
although mine is stiffer if i pump it once before clutch up.....but thats not a big deal cuz i do that to bring the bike to a dead stop anyways.

Re: gp tech hb sucks donkey nuts
I have ridden alot of guys bikes that the fitting gave me one finger lock up. The most impressive one was Josh Clem's new R6 right after he got that magura master.
My K6 locks up one finger with a brembo and a welded fitting too and it's not even a fitting it's the part of an old non-radial master where you screw in the banjo that I cut off and welded on! LOL
This time I'm goin with one of Mr. Chino's...
