R6 Build!!

Just bought a R6, lol its in ****** peices though..My first step is rebuilding the engine and start piecing it back together. My question is while its apart like this any thing I should do to make it stronger for stunting?

And I got about 2k to put into it for stunt parts and misc ****. So can you guys guide me in the right direction on what stunt parts work best for this bike..

Thanks in advanced

Re: R6 Build!!

weld/reinforce the weak points of the frame/subframe. Hope that isnt your first stunt bike?! Im sure that subframe will snap without proper reinforcement.

Re: R6 Build!!

Go to ATOWN CUSTOMS get a subframe from him as well as a cage and everything else you need. Also get a fairing stay if you are going to run FF the first time u drop the bike the stock stay is going to break. The subframe, rear sets and fairing stay are the weekest parts on the r6.

Re: R6 Build!!

Thanks for all the info, I will start buying the stunt parts as soon as I get the engine back in one piece,

This is my first stunter but I have rode R6s for the past 5 years, I rode the f4i and it feels like a tank to me so I figured I should stick with what feels best. Besides I was kinda under the impressoin that the biggest weak point is the subframe, anything else I need to worry about?

The subframe, fairing stay (Holds the headlights on and front fairing) and rear sets are the week points.

Re: R6 Build!!

since you have been riding R6's for a while now im sure you already know that the rear peg position puts your leg tight up against the tail when in the staggered position and the pegs like to fold up on you not to mention the rear peg brackets flex so much when you stand on them that they make your rear pegs aim downward , an OMR SUBCAGE solves all those problems ..

the subcage is stiffer and doesn't flex so the pegs don't point downward and i relocate the rear peg position so you can put your whole foot on the peg with out having your leg jammed up against the tail
..

the way i keep the pegs from folding up on you is by rotating the peg mount forward on it's axis and as a bonus this puts your foot on the grippy part of the peg instead of the slippery side of the peg ..

$175 shipped pm me if your interested
