another 600rr vs f4i thread, please some insight!

Can anybody who switched from both bikes gimme some insights on what to do? i'm thinking about selling the f4i and getting an 04 rr with my rc51 front end. i know the peg position is kind of odd. i wanna run FF ofcourse, no need to turn the clipons out all the way for me cuz i didnt do so either on the f4i.
how is the idle? is it good and strong if you do the idle mod?
overheating problems/solutions?
overall feel of the bike? bugs i have to know about?
do i have to gear it much? i ran -1 +10 on the f4i and want to do the same on the rr, does it need more or is that ok?

thanks for helping

Teach killed it on the 600RR... everything - just watch the "Hard Day's Work" clip from the Tracy spot in Cali.

Tice struggled hard on the RR... no offense... but he did... badly. He was waaaay better on the F4i and is now better on the 636 than he was on the 600RR.

The RR is siiiiiiiiiiiiiiick for drifting and burnouts. Super easy. I never circled it... but I did notice that BP for coasters was real tall.

I know the balance point is higher. Buying an omr subcage would eliminate being uncomfortable doing stagger wheelies and what not.

My opinion, i think the motor mounts are too low on the bike. Seems to have the advantage for rolling onto the upper part of the bike.

Re: another 600rr vs f4i thread, please some insight!

in my opinion stick with the F4i.the RR has a high BP and its tricky to do alot of stuff. if you do get an RR it will make you a more aggressive rider cause u have to try 2x as hard to do stuff. the F4i is def the way to go if you like doing combos and what not.

rode a 600rr with Dbars and hated it, rode the same one with clip-ons and loved it,the downs they are a cramped bike, and im only 5'11, and the tank are a bitch to dent those are the only thing i dont like about them. they are powerful and easy to whip around, i want one.

Re: another 600rr vs f4i thread, please some insight!

well this is my experience . I stunted a 2000gsxr for 6yrs switched from ff to streetfighter a few times and finally got tired of swapping frames and not being able to nail a few tricks . so i got a 06 600rr which i rode streetfighter the first year never felt comfortable as i was on the gsxr and switched to full fairing this year. the rr is fun to just ride , i wouldnt reccomend it as a stunter . then just last month i switched to a a sf f4i and in a bout 2hrs. i became a better rider then i ever was in the past 8yrs. i miss the drifts and burnouts on the rr . at 230lb. the hardest thing i have encountered is doing burnouts on the f4i. i am an average stunter just lack the flexibility to do any of the pull through tricks

I love the RR its more nimble like smaller than the f4i
I had R1 forks on my f4i.
Thing is i think the RR is not going to stand up to much abuse as the f4i will.
So look for a real good cage. I am running ff and i am pulling them off to reinforce areas that have already stress cracked...
I also scooped many plastics on forum boards local so i have extras.....

This bike cost me some cash to set up and buy so its the keeper bike for sometime... See how long it takes before i am running streetfighter?

Idle mod is a must do..... i used a F2 cable brand new $9- from honda
Just run it out the front of the tank next to your headset...
Just installed the hohey triple and woodcraft clipons cut the upper down and wanna ride but they call for snow and its f-ing cold here!

F4i overheated loads cbr600RR no switch on it just stock it runs cool

Post pictures if you get ps i miss my f4i for hucking

Go with the 05-06 over the 04. MUCH stronger motor.
