Check if the wires that connect to the battery are tight and not touching the subframe in any way...

if its not that..i would pull the tank off and turn the key,and touch the wires around the tank, keep an eye to see when u loose power, when you do thats where u have the problem take a good look at all the wires u were touching..wires are not a big problem..

that would be the hardest way of fixing this problem..i would never do that just because a wire is messed up..

to add u can also make sure the wires that connect to the batter are clean..also do your f4i have tip over sensor?is it removed? proby not the problem but worth the try..

the terminals are clean. tip sensor and every sensor is double checked. might be fuel pump. if not it then i guess harness.

Re: F4i Losing power

it weird i was driving down the road and the bike just starts cutting out and dieing, then i tear everything down to find nothing loose or bare wire. turn the key and have power with the tank nowhere near my bike. plug the fuelpump and mount the tank bike fires up fine.

heres what got me, if i touch the tank to the frame it sparks an if the tank isnt touching the frame the bike dies no power anywhere. tomorrow im gonna swap the fuel pump and if it doesnt work im gonna swap the entire harness. if it still does it im gonna finance a 636.

sometimes wires can melt, inside the black covering of the wire harness, then they just melt together and connect...happened to me..i dont belive changing the fuel pump will solve anything..

Re: F4i Losing power

I agree with Dino, that doesn't sound like a fuel pump problem.
