ehh you'll have that. This bike was wrecked so streetfighter was the better idea to do instead of leaving it zip tied together. The roundbar is just as solid as any sick innovations, this bike is gonna be a street stunter so the FI cage was more logical to go with, i made my own custom undertail at work n had it powdwercoated as well. I got the top clamp for free, dirtbars were on closeout, ive barely put any money into this bike so i think im doing pretty good. Its far from finished as well. put all the stainless brake lines on the front the other day...bunch of **** left to do.

Re: Streetfighter'd My Bike

that roundbar is solid...i was smashing it against a concrete floor pretty hard n it didnt do **** to it. Solid cold rolled 3/4" round stock. the side gussests are 3/16" hardened steel with grade 8 bolts back with nylock nuts. N i made inserts to put inside the subframe rails them selves where the bolts go through so when tightened it doesnt pull in the walls of the subframe. She should be able to take quite the hit n if it breaks then its back to the drawing board.

just hope you dont end up snapping the subframe off the frame hinges

Re: Streetfighter'd My Bike

i know this guy who stunts this model bike but a 98' and he mounts the subframe with pretty weak bolts so if it hits hard enough he snaps the bolts instead of the mounts. but im runnin a FI cage n the side struts mounts through the bottom subframe mount hole. n they give ya pretty beefy bolts to use. so im not sure if id be able to throw a weaker bolt in it.

I do. The fairings would always flap in the wind and everyone asked the same thing...

but like you said... the fairings are bolted on to the bike, so they're not going anywhere

Re: Streetfighter'd My Bike

dude, dont let some of these guys get you down. tons of haters here and most prolly dont even have a piece or have ever actually ever built one. ur getting "some" good advice here so work with it and stick with this sheite! half the fun is looking back after you get it done having struggled through ur build issues. the other half of the fun is when you start learning and...........trashing it! all that build knowledge will come in very handy then. good luck man and stick with it
