Re: pulling big trailers full of stuntbikes?

not bad kaney, but i want a 5th wheel so i can leave my pit location....combined cost for what i want retail with truck and trailer is over 100k but you can shave over 20k off the toy hauler pretty easily and another 20k off the truck by going a couple years old. total investment is probably in the neighborhood of 70-80k, with my investment being about 30k of it...maybe a little more.

i need a deal on wrap too!!

Re: pulling big trailers full of stuntbikes?

so i think i'm sold on the dodge...still gonna give the chevy a chance bc of the interior (i dont care about looks)

08 brand new dually long bed xlt, tiptronic shifting and jake brake...32k plus bs so like 34 OTD. is that a good deal? didnt even get into negotiating, just asked for a ballpark...clearly they are desperate to sell trucks??

thoughts?

when i aksed about used, it seemed like the prices were mid to high 20's for used bc people paid 40-50k for them a couple years ago and the book is still up there...

Re: pulling big trailers full of stuntbikes?

I don't think thats a horrible price but even with the economy where it's at, pickups are still outrageous up here. I can't tell you anything that anyone hasn't already stated time and time and time again. You're definately doing your research so that is good. My personal preference is Chevy/GMC because I like the looks/interiors myself too. As far as the pickup goes, I think it's pretty much the same with anything. You're going to have good ones and bad ones. The one that's supposed to be the most reliable may **** on you right away and the one that's supposed to be bad may take you wherever you need to go for as long as you want. It's true that there are common problems with each pickup so I'll end my rant since pretty much everything has been said with each one and wish you good luck!

Re: pulling big trailers full of stuntbikes?

Diesels = 30% more efficient by design
even with gas prices
longer wheelbase = better ride, 8ft box w/extended cab
chevy + best ride out of big 3
cummings best diesel, but GM has come a long way, still get 3 to 400,000 miles out of truck.
standard will most likley give you least problems. thats what they put in the bigg trucks.
duelly almost a must for that long of trailer. even going over an underpass on highway your trailer will act like a sail, those 2 extra tires will help alot with sway ,and going down steep grade..(thats scary shyt when it threatens to get away from you )
This is the right time of year to buy leftover 08's
I made a mistake and bought a 6ft box. can't fit anythng in it.
Downside to long truck, tough parking, but makes big donuts.

Re: pulling big trailers full of stuntbikes?

the new 09 rams have an all time wireless internet option that would be pretty sweet for long roadtrips and a laptop...

Re: pulling big trailers full of stuntbikes?

what pic is that? blue x????

kaney, i'm poor 09 is outta the question....it's gonna suck when me and you go the same show/comp and we both roll solo with big rigs! lol

45k for a pimp toy hauler on ebay all day is where it's at...i think i even convinced crazy dan jackson to do the toy hauler bus. instead of the RV style...makes more sense to me.

love your mega cab, but i never sit in the back and when i wanna sleep i'll go into the toy hauler.

looking at something like this or similar...there's quite a bit of options for roughly 45k price range
