Re: 636 starting problem

Sounds like a battery to me. Mine does the same thing right now. Turn the key on, pump primes, but not enough juice to start the bike.

Re: 636 starting problem

HA Ha funny. I was gonna say its the nrc cover isn't machined enough on the inside. I had this happen twice. The surface which mates up against the starter intermediate gear dowel pin washer sometimes needs to be grinded just a little.
It puts to much pressure on the washer not allowing the starter to turn the gear. It gave me the same symptom as you just one click and thats it. I figured it out after taking the cover on and off like 10 times.

Glad it was just a battery

Re: 636 starting problem

are u charging your batteries correct homie? a good one with a proper trickle charge should last 2 YEARS (without battery tender not being ridden all winter). w a tender used in the off season ive seen them last 3-5 years. part dept experience.

where/who ever u buy the batts from.. make sure they fill and charge right after. if they fill...let sit... then charge or dont fully charge the battery on the first charge it will alwyas be a garbage battery, best thing todo is fill and charge yourself to know its done right.

should be a yuasa rtx9-bs too. still need a clutch cover. found one here in my garage yesterday.

only reason i went thru so many batteies is that i have a really bad habit of leaving my key on for many days at a time...lol...

but i actually do need a clutch cover still...i got one in my bike now but its a loaner...how much?
