Any problems running 2 masterlinks in a chain?

Just finally ordered my rear sprocket +7, which I can't wait to get been putting it off for awhile now. Anyone ever had problems running 2 masterlinks in a chain(cheap way) or should I stop being a tight *** and buy a new chain. You need how many links per tooth. Original chain was 114 at 43t. What would I need for a 50t?

Re: Any problems running 2 masterlinks in a chain?

you'll want a new chain with new sprockets. Get 120 links, eye it up and cut off what you don't need.

ya i got 2 master links but thats cause i pulled a dumb dumb and made the chain to long in the first place. As for new sprockets your gona want a new chain cause they all wear together. I use motoheaven and the dude that runs the place is cool as hell

its better off in the long run to buy a new chain. if you doing it to jus get by for the weekend or somethin to that effect its fine. but just spend the extra cash and get a new chain

yeah, this squid just put the chain on and didnt make sure that it was properly sized..... thats ok, every noob does that his first time. Thankfully, my first time was with a $20 bicycle chain when I was about 9 years old and not with a $120 chain and $12.00 master link.

always run a new chain with new sprockets..... an old chain will prematurely wear out a new sprocket and vice versa.

Re: Any problems running 2 masterlinks in a chain?

2 master links shouldn't hurt anything. I have been running 2 in my bike since I geared it about 2000 miles ago. It seems that everything is going good so far.

how hard is it to push the wheel all the way forward in the swing arm and stretch the chain as much as you can to make sure its the proper fit? what if the chain was too small? then you would have really been screwed. No disrespect..... I just like to raz you about it... your sit down gorilla scrape yesterday was 10 times funnier!

Re: Any problems running 2 masterlinks in a chain?

Btw anyone looking for a cheap quality chain, KMC!

I think I spent $55 shipped on a 120 link chain for my f4i.. 525..

Half the price of name brand DID or RK.. And the chain "appears" to be of quality..

I've ran mine for about 2500 miles so far, still looks new..

Heres a 525 122 link KMC for $63 shipped
