I don't purposely bend my knees much, but yes, it's a good idea to keeps your bars in a neutral position so you can leverage them whatever way you need at the appropriate time. Don't keep them locked one way or the other.

I keep my inside leg straight and bend my outside leg a little just to take pressure off it. I dont think i move the pars around at all unless im in a heavy lean.
