RRs are a bitch to work on.
In your current situation, I'd jb weld it back, get a better cage (maintain it!) and call it a day for now. When it's completely toast deal with taking it out and attempting to have it welded.

Im pretty sure I could help you take the motor out. Never really messed w a RR but I got the service manual so I could check it out. Really depends on when you wanna give it a shot Taking it out is a lot easier than putting it in considering Ive never put in a RR motor. If it were an F4i I could strip that bitch down and put it back together in a couple of hours now

+1 thats what Id attempt first. I dont know how bad its leaking but if you could warm the motor up a little and throw the jb weld on it while its warm, the JB Weld will get all liquidy and clog up the leak (Disclaimer - I dont know if thats the smart thing to do since yours is leaking oil - mine was leaking coolant and thats what I did and I been riding/beating on this motor for a while already). You could also throw stop a leak in there - they have that for oil parts that leak like your bike.

Why dont you try what Inolen said first. He actually saw it - I didnt so if he's saying to JB the bitch, I'd try that first And you need welder who welds aluminum. If your guy doesnt I got the guy who did mine - charged $50. -refd by Nick10000000000000000

Yo go buy JB Weld - its very easy to use and comes with moron proof instructions lol. Take equal parts of mix from each tube and mix them together and put it over the crack. Allow time to dry. Prior to putting the JB on clean the area very thorough and try to get any oil residue away from there.
