well first things first get a new hose and see if the bike runs hot gauges will be needed ..lol
there is a chance the hose was just old or maybe your cap is bad and allowed the system to build too much pressure ..

your stock cap should be 1.1 bars or 16 pounds , the cap from the dealer is like 35 bucks but you can get a cap at the auto parts store for like 7 bucks , if they dont have a 16 pound cap that fits you can go a little higher in pressure like a 18 but you probably dont want to go lower than a 16

now the other thing i would worry about is if the cap allowed enough pressure to build up in the system to have pushed coolant by the head gasket or the water pump seal , i would check to see if you have any coolant in your oil ..
Re: Calling aLL NY stunters and stunteresses
that makes me think the cap is definitely bad , 16 psi shouldnt be enough pressure to make a loud bang ..

Re: Calling aLL NY stunters and stunteresses
even if there is coolant in there that doesnt necessarily mean it's fucked , the seal on the water pump could possibly let some coolant buy under extreme pressure but may still work fine under normal pressure ..

so drain the oil and see if theres coolant in there. replace the hose and put a new cap on. put new oil in and get bike up to operating temp and then drain the oil again to see if theres coolant in the oil. sound right? what if when i go to drain the oil thats in there now, there's no coolant?

oil floats on water so the water will go to the bottom of the oil pan and will be the first thing to drip out as you start to loosen the drain plug as long as it has been sitting long enough for the water to separate ..
does the oil look ok through the site glass or does it look foamy
Re: Calling aLL NY stunters and stunteresses
you dont really even need to drain the oil to see if there is coolant in it , you could just loosen the drain bolt very slightly and see if oil drips out or coolant ..
