the trick to dodge trannys is u MUST use the factory trans fluid ..... as in go to the dealer for it . the additives in the aftermarket trans fluids are death to the clutches and planetary gear in dodge trannys .

and here is the kicker ....... 4.7 is a crap motor . has oil issues and is known to get a rod knock . i got an 02 in my driveway that i gotta change the engine in .

usually arnt to cheap. Might be able to find a super old one(which are usually better anyway)

question for you: On dakota and durango forums i frequently hear exactly what you just said about the 4.7. On the jeep forums however, everybody loves them and I rarely hear about the rod knock issue, or the sludge build up issue the dodge versions have. Isnt it the same motor inside and out?
