Clutch wheelies

Clutch wheelies
I just got my bike back. And I started clutching some wheelies yesterday. Well I got it up on stock gearing and cover my brake, it came way high and I put it back down. After that I pulled it up and I would cover my brake, but I would rev the throttle and it would want to stall. So am I just supposed to keep throttle steady and use my brake to keep it balanced? Seems logical, but I just was wondering if ya'll had some tips or anything.

Re: Clutch wheelies
clutch it up as quick as you can comfortably. as it gets close to balance back off on the throttle. for high speeds brake isn't necessarily needed, just engine braking. at low speeds keep in the throttle a little (or crank your idle to 2 of 3 K RPM)and use the brake to keep it from falling backwards... check out the sticky on "how to wheelie" he knows better than I do

Re: Clutch wheelies
Ive read that. Im just not sure where balance point is. I really dont know how high Im getting. But I know its way the hell back there. But I just keep the throttle in just just enough to keep me from going down and use the brake to keep fom flipping. Right?

Re: Clutch wheelies
sit away from the tank and make sure your preloadin the front forks and then keep the throttle steady to hold it up most people lean too far forward and bring the bike down by leaning it's mostly about balance. I found that I usually lean too far forward that's my prob.

Re: Clutch wheelies
the sure fire way to determine balance point is when your speed does Not change while keeping the tire up. If it starts to come down slow (without a speed change) you were close. if it just falls when not gassing it up you've got a ways to go. some guys say BP is about where your forks are horizontal but I've never been talented enough to look or know about that.
