ive seen more f4i frames crack than i have 636...ive had 2 so far and never had one crack. all of section 518 has been runnin em since 04 and never cracked a frame. actually i cant even think of anyone that i know thats ever broken a 636 frame unless it was a serious accident.

My frame on my 636 almost broke in half at the neck.. If you don't drop your bike then it'snot a problem.. Lin's frame is cracked on both sides and he has bracing. I'm not hating I love 636s but I'm on the F4i till I don't drop my bike alot which I don't now but for sure a 636 can't handle lots of hard drops

true i dont really drop my bike too hard but the dudes from 518 do and they never had no problem

any possibility that your frames couldve been damaged before you got the bikes...like salvage title bikes or something?

Re: wow

ive seen severall 636s along the way....

all that have been stunted have frames cracked at the neck weld area....most happened from stunting..no cracks prior

i think just stalling the bike to the ground on both wheels is enough for the frame to start tearing at the weld or near it

No mine was brandnew 04. I pancaked it a couple times.. Like i'm talking the frame was split 1/2" in areas.. It was my fault though. I was a squid and saw a little crack in the welds and didn't do **** about it.. Chans frame broke on him and he had it braced and it's cracking again i think.

and with the cracked frames..... MOST bikes will eventuall crack if you ride them hard or hit them jus right... or have a garbage cage

but i braced mine, and its holding great with numerous hard hits... HARD hits.....

FYI: when you weld your frame you MUST heat treat it! before and after welding! welding a frame without heat treating is actually worse then jus riding cracked frame haha cause you soften the rest of the frame!

i know because i deal with aluminum daily an have heat treat oven an all tools to check hardness before an after welding.

after you weld your frame, its as soft as possible, bottom of the scale.

90 percent of the time you can heat treat back to were it should be...
but aluminums homo-gay an sometimes to many heat cycles "kills" the material an its permantly in soft state an cant be hardned again

blahhh anyway... thats my cause im bored pooping in tdubbys toliet
