r6 type s vs 636's

i see alot of people hateing on r6's on here and i cant figure out why....now im not talking about the high rev p.o.s r6 im talking about the good old r6 type s 03-08, i know they feel wearid stock but once you set them up there ****!!! my friend runs 636's and we both have the same dirt bars and when you put our bikes side by side the bars/tank/pegs/ are all the same height and the subframe has the same angle and height as well( more so on the 03-05 models the undertail exhust models have a lil different angle to them......

so anyways they are about the same set up, same weight, same horse power, i know there subframes are alot weaker but ive never had any issues with mine and ive come back on it pretty hard a few times to where i expected it to be a lil tweaked and it wasnt, so the next thing people bitch about is there is no one making parts for thing r6's...thats bs the only things i cant gte are an oil pick up...which kinda sucks but my oil light never comes on anyways...and 2 I CANT GET THE STREETFIGHT STYLE HO HEY MOUNT i have to run the og hhd mount which still works awsome

Re: r6 type s vs 636's

sorry didnt mean to offend im just a yamaha/honda mechanic and ive seen alot of problems with the high revs there great track bikes but some years you cant even raise the idle without big mods.. there just not good for slow stunting freeway speeds there fine

Re: r6 type s vs 636's

i owned an 03 and an 07, sold the 07 to get a clapped out F4i. haha

i can see how the 03 would have been an ok bike to stunt, but i need something a little stronger in all areas (mostly frame and subframe) because im just a noob. lol

do yourself a favor get a sub cage...in makes a HUDGE ******* DIFFERANCE on the r6...i can flex the stock rearset/pass pegs mounts by hand also you can put the older r1 forks on and your stock brakes/rim/spacers/axel all mount up all i had to do was buy 03 r1 fork tubes and tripple clamps and all my stock stuff mounted right up.........Name: bike92708.jpg

Re: r6 type s vs 636's

Im putting together an 03 R6 I bought and I have heard the same things about the bike... I guess its personal preference... But a bikes a bike right and if you practice and practice you should be able to stunt anything so in time im sure parts will be avaliable... Ill just ride what I got and make the most of it since I love the sport and want to continue riding... If you guys have any info on what parts and setup you have Id be interested... Thanks...

Re: r6 type s vs 636's

the peg position is the same just wider out so the inside of your calf doesnt hit the fairing as much...but not to far out to where it catch up on things....i love my sub cage if it broke right now i would order another on in a heart beat

I absolutely LOVE mine!!

I've had them all (F4i, 636, 600rr, Gsxr & R6) and I'm happiest with the R6 so far.

It's for sale right now tho so I can get into a Supermoto those things are Awesome!

A OMR subcage makes a ton of difference on the r6 you will LOVE it! The tail wont cut up your leg anymore! The pegs wont flex anymore, and it rotates the pegs forward so with stock pegs your still on the gripper part of the peg. AND it strengthens the subframe from side to side.:YEAH

BUY 1. It's only $175 and you will receive it in about 2 days after you send the payment.

i used to murder **** on my 2005 R6 bone stock (except for the paint). i plan on getting another R6 as my next bike. only problem i had with mine was my left leg kept making the undertail pop out when i would ride staggered.

i can almost guarantee your subframe is cracked (directly above your rear-set, about 5 inches back from where it bolts up, with the crack starting from the bottom) it will be hard to see, but i bet its cracked from squiding out.

p.s. your bike set-up looks nice, but i want to see some action shots.
