I agree..especially when cops chase ya and you cut through the ghetto and parks to out run them hahaha
brake control. also the thing i noticed was combos. i can kill combos on a 50 and i think it helped a tad on the bigger bike. you get the feeling for the side to side balance and what the bike might do when steppin around from pegs to seat and what not..
aside from that i think 50's are a blast. ive done 2 local stunt shows with one too so its the only glory i can get lmao

I know the title of the thread says learning on one...... but for me it was just about having fun... It used to be alot of fun...but now I end up cringing when I see the fiddy crowd at the lot when we pull up anymore...
No matter if they are cool people riding or I like them or not....they all seem to have a bad habit about runnin in front of me and trying to get underneath my bike all the time!!
one thing is for sure: they just annoy me anymore....

Re: Learning on 50s? or Fullsize?
I would recommend learning rear brake control on a small bike rather than jumping straight onto a big bike. I looped a few times on my small bikes, and I'm glad it happened on them rather than my big bikes.
The basic skills you learn on the 50's will definitely help with the streetbikes, but it really is a completely different feel between the bikes. I find the big bikes to be heaps more stable than my twitchy little 110cc pitbike.

I'm learning on a KDX200. Only 200cc's, but the bike it's self is taller and longer than any stock street bike I've ever seen. I wouldn't mind playing around on a fiddy though.

Re: Learning on 50s? or Fullsize?
this has been discussed too much.
be a man, learn on a real bike. i play on 50's but it doesn't mean ****. I know tons of kids on 50's that couldn't do a slow wheelie for their life on a big bike. you wanna stunt a sportbike then practice on one.
getting your *** off the internet helps too

Re: Learning on 50s? or Fullsize?
gotta say i had a 50 for over a year learned almost all my tricks with no handbreak the thing is with 50 they are super fun and great to play with but to get serious you need a big bike i just got me a a 92 gsxr to learn on and work I say go get one because big bikes always break and 50 well are invunerable to breaking you might as well get both one to stunt (big bike) and a 50 to play on / pratice on

or buy a decent stuntbike (not a shitty gixxer) and don't destroy it. 3 years and my stuntbike hasn't missed a beat because it's a honda.
the 50 will only help you ride a 50. plain and simple. I've been racing longer than you've been alive. Once you learn to ride and stunt you'll see the difference.
