The Brembo front master on 2004-2008 R1's... IS THAT the same Brembo 16 x 18 everyones running for handbrakes

im not sure if its the "SAME" but the R1 master cylinder works good for a HB for sure....

 

it is not the same, but it does work excellent for a handbrake

Its a brembo and works great for a handbrake but its not the 16x18. The actual brembo 16x18 works much better from what Ive read.

 

i've had both. the real 16/18 has better feel and power,the stocker has a stiffer pull so the lever feels more solid. thats the only real difference.both are good for sure

 

neither is better, it is a matter of personal prefference

 

i love my r1 master.

real brembo is way stronger, but the r1/r6 works just fine

 

i agree.....I prefer my R1 radial over my old brembo 16x18..mounts easier and seems to have a better feel than the 16x18 with my 4 piston HHD handbrake.....the 16x18 was VERY touchy with it, but was prolly nicer with my old handbrake than the R1 radial would be.

 

yeah, when I put a brembo(actually it was a frembo) on, I had to like relearn idle because it was so sensitive.
