i run mine about 2000. i am -1 and + 10 and i hate it. it was that way when i bought it. i want to change to + 5 in the rear, so its a little more smooth.

Wow, you and roger are both running a lot higher than I thought......

I may need to re think my approach. With my 07 I don't run over about 3300 and it has nothing on the 636.
I may give 3500 a try and see if I can smooth my circles out some.

****, I may go even higher.

Re: what idle to run on 04 636

i run mine at 2500 for most ****, 3200-3500 for circles(still learning them, dont hate) but am now getting down to around 2800 for circles, my goal is a steady 2,500 for now... normally 3,000 for no throttle hand ****, sometimes 3500 if im feeling off balanced that day

I estimate my idle to be somewhere between 0 and 10,000......cause I aint got no gauges, and I aint needin no gauges.

Smooth and slow and booooooooooring.. Just stick with it and gain some throttle control.. Smaller gearing doesn't make you less smooth you do.. Yr going to want more gear and low end pull later, and will have to kinda relearn everything.

Here we go ... now were back to 2005 where if you run low idle and on the throttle yr cool and if you run high idle yr garbage.. Where have you been for the past 2+yrs..?

Why is it saddening? You can still run 3500-4500 idle and throttle circles around.. There just guna be a lil faster and more exciting, and maybe slowd dn a little bit when taking hands off..
