in case you forget what you said - "I am getting a large order from Vortex today, so hopefully they are in this box, I will keep you updated. Sorry for the hold up, Vortex has been behind on alot of our orders lately"
why would they tell me they hope they are "in this box" without looking in the box first and telling me if they are in it or not? doesn't make any sense.

Re: Anyone having problems with H.A.I?

Funny i just logged on to ask the same question. I decided to put a hb on the minty 06 GiX 1K. I ordered the adaptor kit from HAI (1st order ever) and paid $70 to get it over nighted. I spoke to Joe over the phone and he was a huge help getting the order out the door in time for next day air. I waited like a kid before x-mas til ups showed up wit the box. Went straight from work to the garage to tackle this 20 min install... Wait, they send the wrong adaptor. I checked my order to make sure i didnt screw up. NOPE! They sent the wrong one. Called - closed.....and wait for it... its FRIDAY night! No one will be there til monday to hopefully send me the replacement part and hopefully give me the $70 back. I salvaged the situation with a temp fix - coupled the front and back line and eliminated the footbrake til the adaptor arives.

Just a really bad 1st experience !! SSL

And i dont have any reason to doubt that. Again, 1st experience ever with them. Just frustrated wit the situation. From all the post backin them, im sure i wont have any probs gettin this corrected. But, again, 1st experience, antsy to get the product, get all the tools out to install, only to find out it wont work - Just frustrating. But i will re-state the situation. It was late by the time the order went thru (cuz my cc info didnt come thru their system 4 some reason) and Joe made sure my order went out that day anyway! Im not doubtin their staff or store... But Im just a customer stuck w/ a product i cant use - $200 later. Again, i aint tryin to trash the store, just statin my circumstances.. I hope everyone reads this and sees wat i sayin ....

Re: Anyone having problems with H.A.I?

you can definitely tell when stunters back a shop or company...... I've never dealt with Hai, but they have a good rep and I wouldnt think twice about ordering thru them. I would place the blame on Vortex right now....they make their money off racers and stock replacements, not stunters, so they prolly dont care as much about any larger than average sprockets.

I general when it comes to sprockets for me in the future, I dont know who I would buy sprockets from now that Geared is outta business. I had 3 sprockets thru them and all were flawless, including the still almost new looking 60 tooth on my F4i. Vortex seems to be taking longer than I would prolly want to wait (like the guy above is experiencing), Sprocket Specialists look kinda "blah" and plain, and although I really do like SI's products in general, the one sprocket I've seen from them had to be ground down around the teeth with a dremel because the powdercoat was so thick the chain wouldnt fit on it. I'm sure Ian will get **** ironed out and have the fit as flawless as my old cage and round bar fit....if so, thats where my money would go right now.

Re: Anyone having problems with H.A.I?

I really think that in the beginning they were moving and didn't really have a way to check out your order. Once they got moved then they could tell you what was going on.
But, that is not really an excuse. Computers should have been a top priority in the move. There should have been one up and running at both shops during the move and there should have been a forwarded call to the new shop if they weren't at the old one. I don't think they are lying to you. I just think they had bad planning for their move.

Re: Anyone having problems with H.A.I?

i worked in retail in a local motorcycle shop for 3 years people like u r the reason i hated my job. its not who u ordered the parts from fault. when they told u they were havin problems with vortex takin a while i wouldnt doubt it they have always taken a while especially on a oversized sprocket.

people just dont seem to realize a dealership or shop like hai is kinda the middle man between the customer and and supplier nd causwe of people like this guy is why major companies like vortex dont wanna deal with the public cause they dont want the head aches from impatient people

do you have an anger problem or something, you are getting seriously mad of some stupid bullshit, i never said that i was crying about how H.A.I fucked me over, ive said that they have been a great shop and ive ordered a ton of **** from them. All i was asking in the beginning was if anyone else was having any problems with them at the moment.

And i have worked in retail too, and when we had to order something for a customer we told them that we were ordering it and we called them when we had a problem with the company that we were ordering it from, etc. We didn't leave them totally clueless to what the **** was going on for 4 weeks while they sat there and waited.

I mean how the **** was i suppose to know that it would take 4 weeks, it says on their website that it takes an extra 2-3 days for sprockets to ship out. If i didn't send them in an email after 2 weeks of waiting for ANY type of response they would of never even told me.

But who really gives a **** anyway. Im not going to explain myself. You go order something for you ******* bike and wait a month while it sits in the ******* garage before you can ride it again.

yes i do have anger problems....im from ny we all do. you are a cry baby. and i would never order something that wasnt physicly in stock at the time. like when i ordered my last sprocket/chain set up, i called around to a few places to find what i wanted and i say this "do you have the sprocket/chain at the shop right now?" if their response was no i said well thank you but i need this right away and called another place. im pretty sure it was only the 2nd shop that i called that had it in stock ready to ship, that place wasnt hai fyi. the only part that i will order thats not in stock is SI cages from hai cuz i wont run anything else and its worth the wait to me. last year i broke my stator cover while waiting for my cage, i didnt post on here crying about hai not shipping my **** on time, stop being a bitch.

i dont think hes being a bitch at all. I think if the situation was reversed you'd probally be just as annoyed. I didnt take it as he was bitching or cryin just looking to see if he;s getting smoke blown up his *** or if its legit.

as he said 2 weeks went by before he made contact to them not them sayin hey orders fucked up its gunna take a while. there are many other sites out there that will contact you and let you know ***** not right. they didn't. im not sayin they fucked him or anything like that im just sayin if i had orders hanging in the balance and **** wasn't working out the way it should id let my customer know so it aint my *** on the grill.

Re: Anyone having problems with H.A.I?

And just as an update on my situation, i called all day Sat (afterpayin overnight fees and recievin the wrong part - $70) and emailed too - NO RESPONSE !! May not mean much to you readers who have been doin this forever, already have fully done bikes, and have delt wit them before wit no probs... But for me, 1st order, payed overnight fees, and no answers ( No return emails or calls, and trust me i called alot ) its really frustrating. And, after talkin to my peoples, locals, whom have ordered from them before, I see I am not the first person to have this prob. 2 out of 3 ordered hb's and got the wrong adaptor as well. HAI fixed it, ill give them that, but it took weeks.... im not ok wit that - remember i paid $70 in overnight fees for a huge ride wit out local people. AGAIN, IM SURE THEY ARE A GREAT SHOP, BUT MY EXPERIENCE WIT THEM HAS BE HORRIBLE..EVEN IT IS ONLY ONE - I AM STILL A PAYIN CUSTOMER (THATS HOW THEY STAY ALIVE) Hopefully soon ill post a "Happy Update" about the whole situation...but it aint today.. Im sure ill get replyies from SL regs about bitchin and cryin, but you were all NOOBS at some point too - and you were all anxious to recieve ur parts so u could better ur skills just like me - JMFT

Yup, I got the wrong adapter for one of my 636s and they sent me a new one asap and made it right with some stickers, LOL. In my opinion, they should have knocked some $ off, but Im not one to cause a scene. However, at the very least they better reimburse your overnight fees. If they do not do that then they have shitty customer service. I personally still order from HAI and just placed an order for an adapter kit for my 06 636. I called them after placing the order just to make sure they send me the right one so if it is wrong again I am going to be pissed, LOL.
