Sprocket advice

Hey guys

I’m just getting into wheelies and wanted your advice as far as what combination of front and back sprockets I should upgrade to for my 2001 F4i also what brand you would suggest.

PS The majority of my riding will be street/hwy

Thanks

Re: Sprocket advice

Learn on stock gearing. Changing gearing will make throttle control more difficult.

Re: Sprocket advice

i say go down one tooth up front, just to help out your clutch a little and to take away that initial lag off the line. learn that then get bigger gears if you still want. even a bike I wasnt going to stunt I would always go down one up front becasue of the lag off the line

im up 8 in the rear and ride the street as well as lots. I can go 70mph at 6500 rpm, 75 mph @ 7000rpm, 80 at 7500rpm, 85 at 8000rpm, and so on in that repeatative pattern. Hope that helps.

Re: Sprocket advice

Personally I see NO point in gearing until you are starting to work on circles, or other tricks requiring being steady and smooth under 10mph

And don't even bring clutch wear into the discussion, 2 years of stunting on stock gearing on my f4i, 30k miles on it, stock clutch
