Re: Brake Fluid on pads

i have gotten away with fork oil on my pads before. clean your rotors with brake cleaner and take your pads out and scrub them on some rough concrete. i think as long as the fluid hasnt soaked into the pads you should get away with it.

Re: Brake Fluid on pads

If the brake fluid has sat on them for awhile there prolly junk.

When I get brake fluid on my pads I spray em with water and then go ride around for a few minutes dragging the brakes and it usually cleans it off before it gets soaked into the pads.

Re: Brake Fluid on pads

damn I'm screwed, I bleed the brakes last night, it wasn't till this morning when I decided to take a test drive I noticed some fluid got on the rotor and pads. cleaning it this morning didnt really seem to help at all, stuff probably soaked in the pads

Re: Brake Fluid on pads

It depends on how long they soaked for. The best thing you can do is throw them in a bucket of brake clean. I just did this the other day after bleeding my ****, but I had a canister of brake clean handy. You may need to get new pads.

Re: Brake Fluid on pads

Soak them with WD40 then ride & drag them till hot then let rotors cool before you spray them off off with water.

WD40 is some cool ****.

It's also a good degreaser
