i fyl way more comfortable in 1st. dont focus on wat rpm ur at juss make sure its in power band n its all good. use ur ear's not ur eyes to determine if ur at a reasonable rpm.

Re: 04 636 highway wheelie
ok i have an 04 636 with stock gearing n heres the low down on how im doin it. either sitting or stand up, in first ill clutch it up at any speed from 1-35 mph or so with no problem. on highway ill run second gear, either sitting or standing, clutch it up anywhere from 35-55 n ride it out as far as i wanna. the only thing i will stress is ALWAYS COVER THE BACK BRAKE! any time you wheelie, any gear, any speed, learn to cover the back brake all the time. itll save your *** one day. trust me! but yeah, highway.. second gear, runnin 35-55 mph, cover rear brake n clutch it up, if you feel your passed balance point, which you will in the begining, press the rear brake to set her back down. press it firmly but dont stomp it cus you dont wanna lock it up n crash, just slow it down, itll drop when you slow it down. this is just quick advice, so i hope it helps you some.

Re: 04 636 highway wheelie
once you get used to clutching it up in second, and COVERING THE BRAKE! u should start practicing putin her down gently... once you can get to or near balance point, apply a lil rear brake n when the front begins to drop roll your throttle back on to make the landing of your front tire a lil smoother. youl know what im talking about after you drop a few wheelies hard. on 636s if you drop em to hard to much youll break your ram air duct n possibly you radiator next... n not to nice on your fork seals either. so get the clutching it up while covering your brake really good first, then begin practicing setting her back down smoothly. stay at it, n avoid the law, n youll be killing it in no time. 636s are wheelie monsters! just be careful.. the rear brake is the main thing you needa learn so you dont loop it out n rash your ***! road rash is one of the most painful things youll ever experiance in your life, worse than breaking bones, tearing ligamins, or kidney stones... im sure you can imagine. practice makes perfect so the more seat time the better youll get. in the begining you will only bring it up a lil maybe a foot n itll feel like your gonna go over but the more you do it youl get higher n higher. if you do em sitting down, a good rule of thumb is, balance point is a lil higher than when you cant see over the front any more... sounds crazy but youll be peaking around the sides of the bike to see whats in front of you. thats why stand ups are easy cus you can see whats in front of you with out leaning which will steer your wheelie in that direction. if you wanna practice stand ups left foot on rear passanger peg n right food on front drivers peg so you can ALWAYS COVER THE REAR BRAKE!

What the **** did you just say? Do you ride a Katana?
The 636 pulls up clutching it at 70mph in third gear~
And 4th gear up to 90+. Impossible? Maybe, if you leave the goddamn keys at home!
Holy ****!
Moving on~
Dude, if you want to do a squid wheelie, you need to smooth out your pimping hand and use the brake more. You're probably choppy on the throttle, which is causing the "power" fear..... Don't be gay, use the rear brake
