Re: 04 636 highway wheelie

i dont ever look at the rpm when clutching up a wheelie... when riding think of what gear your in, get up to the right speed, then clutch it up. when slipping the clutch to stand her up learn to do that by sound. start off with less then slip it with a lil more n more untill you clutch it up to bp. in second get up to 35-55 n slip the clutch a lil. if it barley comes up remember how it sounded when you did it n just slip it with a lil more. less is best when learning cus you woulnt have to visit the ER if you just do a wimpy wheelie. memorize the sound when you slip the clutch n then judge if you should slip it with more... after enough practice itll become second nature n you woulnt even think twice n stand er up to bp right away. just remember, always clutch it up, bouncing it up in a power wheelie is for amatures n ALWAYS COVER YOUR REAR BRAKE in any attempt of a wheelie. be careful n practice makes perfect! N watch out for the law! ha ha ha

Holy ****!

Moving on~

Dude, if you want to do a squid wheelie, you need to smooth out your pimping hand and use the brake more. You're probably choppy on the throttle, which is causing the "power" fear..... Don't be gay, use the rear brake
wtf? your the idiot! he said it wont power up in 3rd gear. he never said you couldnt clutch it up!

Who the **** power wheelies? Goddamn, if he's or anybody is doing power wheelies in this forum, they need to go ahead and take up mountain biking or something. Everyone uses the clutch. And if they don't, they eventually learn that it's the most unsafe way to get a bike on one wheel short of a log in the ******* road.

For the record, I didn't call anyone an idiot... so eat a chub and get over yourself.
The kid never said he power wheelied. The response said powering it, so I assumed he was talking nuts, not squid PHYSICS 101.

Re: 04 636 highway wheelie

i had a zx7r the 450lb bike and i never looked at the rpm i just hear it out and i do stunts on 4wheelers so its a basic step in common with both but the balancing on one wheel is different and im married to my back brake thanks guys for the advice.

He just said a power wheelie is damn near impossible on a 600 on the freeway, and the first thing you say is "clutch it at about"..

You are saying its easy to power up a 600 in 3rd gear on stock gearing?

Let's see it, because on stock gearing, I had to ping my f4i off rev limiter, and dump the clutch to get 3rd gear to just barely come up.

LOL, you mean 7354, right? Precisely with a quarter turn of the low-side adjustment and some preload in the hydrolock, it can be done!
