wanting to put together a charity event for doug from the anti-team who unfortunatly rolled a stoppie this past weekend at RMC 95th anniversary bash Stunt show in oley pa. Didnt have any insurance and hospital bills are going to be crazzy. He got taken away in an ambulance and had to have surgery.
If anyone has any ideas or would like to contribute in any way possible it would be greatly apprechiated.

yeah tell me about it i did the show with him and then i loop a stoppie the 2 days later but it wasnt nearly........ as bad.

but realy ive never tryed to put together a charity so any input would be great..... like how, where, and what exactly to say.

Was this event helping out any foundations or organizations? Id personally try to put a ride together and a small show in hopes of bringing in enough donations to make a difference in his bills.

Someone pitch in some ideas.

A bike show with a 50/50 raffle might bring in some good money... I think with doing a 50/50 tho you might need to get a lottery/gambling liscence. Or if you have to get a liscence to just do a 50/50 you could always do like a texas hold'em night along with the 50/50... texas hold'em tourneys have a wider appeal...

 

HRM yeah 50/50 looks good im going to have to look into that sounds like a good idea...

 

Hopefully he gets better and his medical isn't TOOO MUCH!

I'm not even sure I'd throw my leg over my bike without medical insurance, let alone put on shows!

What exactly did he break when he rolled the stoppie... besides the fall of the bike?

 

From the looks of those pics, his foot got fk'd up bad.

 

I don't mean to sound like a dick here, but lets point out the obvious. No ins and minimal safety gear... that not only has trouble written all over it, but is almost like asking for something bad to happen!

I realize it looks cool to stunt in skate shoes, shorts and a t-shirt, and is also literally cooler, but doesn't anyone believe in Murphy's Law? I'm having a hard time sympathyizing for anyone who makes poor decisions and ends up getting hurt because of it.

regardless of what kind of gear someone has or dont have on i still wouldnt say i wouldnt have sympathy for the person.

 

I never said I don't sympathize. I said I'm having a hard time after having seen so many bad injusries that could have been prevented with the proper safety gear, including seeing a squid leterall rip his foot off. The pics of that one got posted up here if you need to see them. I don't like seeing riders hurt and I honestly don't understand why some people choose to risk it.

 

ok i took it a little wrong. i understand your point though i to wear t shirts
shoes, gloves and just a helmet and after seeing the turnout of this past weekend i am buying shin n knee pads.... still wearing sneakers though but atleast its a little safer...

 

subframes bent to **** and key is bent as hell but the front fairing didnt even hit the ground he went over that fast....
nothing else realy major though

 

i dont wanna ******* ride with 20 lbs of protection on me..i wanna enjoy riding..anyway if u do any rides or events i would be glad to help out,your not that far away from me...

 

I think he meant what did he break on him - not the bike

 

he didnt break anything..... but some big holes in his leg n foot and im not sure what exactly he had to get surgery on his knee or near it....
