Im sure this discussion is on here somewhere but is anyone who stunts an 04-05 gsxr600 blowing fork seals every week? Just ordered heavy duty springs. hopefully that will solve

Rode mine for along time and never blew a seal. Keep your **** CLEAN and stock and you wont have problems. "If it ain't broke, dont fix it" ******* around with the settings, valves and springs will just create problems unless your a suspension tec. that knows what your doing. If your fork seals are blowing chances are who ever is putting them in doesn't know what they are doing and is damaging the seals or you are buying cheap aftermarket seals, or the sleeve is bured or damaged.

i had an 05 and never blew the seals out. bike had 25-30xxx on it and never had any problems. who ever put ur seals in did it wrong i am guessing. if ur ordering heavier springs use stock fork oil weight. and don't use cheap seals pay the extra cash and get good ones.

i have a 06 gxr 600 and had no problems yet ,my 02 750 i blew 1 seal after a million hard hits trying to get cir down

20k miles of abuse on my last 04 gsxr and never had to replace fork seals.

Thanks for all of the advice. I have gone through about 20 seals in the past and have all been the more expensive seals. I got a new set of forks thinking the old ones were damaged and im having the same problem. they sometime blow when im transporting the bike in the trailer. o well time for a kawai i guess.

if your blowing seals during transport you are cranking the bike to tight. ive always had someone sit on the bike then rachet it down then when they get up its not to tight.

there is more to it than that. i dont ever crank em down. boston bob is having issues with his as well. same year/model

alot of people will spend 2 hours cleaning their chain and polishing their wheels but wont just spend 2 seconds with a rag and wiping down their forks to get the debris off. also they make many different types of dust covers to put over the legs of the forks and that helps your seals out quite a bit.

25k miles on mine never any problems, front end as stiff as ever. king tony never had problems with his either i dont think until he wadded out on the freeway.

ive never heard of any bike blowing seals while trailered? would only guess that the bike was strapped down to the wheels... and if it wasnt that **** is crazy.

has to be somethin obvious man i just dont see that happening to forks that were worked on right.

who knows. everytime i change them there is alot of grit/dirt in the fluid so im assuming it may have picked up the dirt and ripped the seals but when i constantly keep them clean it makes me wonder. ill just continue riding hard and try out the new springs to stiffen it up.

Put the bike in gear on its sidestand and tie it down using the rear passenger pegs not the handlebars and you wont have to worry about blowing fork seals.

dont replace them till you learn how to NOT slam down from 12's or bp......
as dino said, just roll harder on the gas as it starts to set down.....
if you run out of gear, change it to the next one and stay hard on the gas

might be an underling prob... might have pitted/scratched/bent forks... and you dont see that untill it unloads when on a wheelie... i had a friend that had this prob and turned out to be that... just a thought.

The fork could be still messed up its dirty or something take it to a dealer...

If there is dirt in there everytime you replace the seals it sounds like they are not being cleaned thouroghly when the seals are replaced.
I also agree w/ all the recommendations given by the others.

The problem is clearly with the mechanic.......... were the forks completely cleaned when the seals were replaced? hose them down with 2-3 cans of BRAKLEEN before they are reassembled. make sure you shoot the valve assemblies well with cleaner and blow them out good with compressed air (wear safety glasses!!!) repeat that process. How are you installing the seals? If you're pushing them down with a screwdriver like the other 90% of the retards, you shouldn't even own a bike! Spend the $50 on the proper fork seal driver!!!!!!!! At the very least, you can make one out of PVC pipe, make sure you spend the time to de-burr all the edges. Most importantly, oil the seat where the seal rests and the seal very well before you install it! This makes the seal go in 10x's easier and keeps the rubber from tearing.

What kind of oil are you using? If you used motor oil, schedule a Vasectomy, we dont need any more people with IQ's less than 20 breeding!

I've seen a few complete wastes of life rebuild forks with motor oil thinking that it was fine as long as they used the proper weight! Motor oil will quickly break down the rubber causing them to leak.

Hopefully you arent any of the people that I have just described.

im not looking for stunt riding tips. I have been riding for 7 years but thanx for your concern. no other bike i have owned has had this prob before. just simply wondering who else has had this issue
