my boys gotta 08 Yamaha WR250X supermoto, things pretty pimp, hes wanting to put a hb on it but the footbreak master is all crazy, no tap-in setups will work. was wondering if we setup a hb master and line and run a double banjo bolt on the rear caliper will this work???????????

 

yea, itll work. or just swap the footbrake master for a better one

 

yeah we thought about doin that to but figured we'd go this route 1st since its easier. but if you can do this then why do people even buy the tap-in's when they can just buy a banjo bolt???? it would work just the same

All you would be doing is ... once you grab the hb, the pressure is going to get relieved back through the fb master and vice versa instead of applying pressure to the caliper.

well the way i see it is it can only push fluid back so far since if your using the hb the foot break master is not gonna be open and viseversa so i figure if u give either break a few pumps before clutchin up it would push fluid back through other line and get solid, kinda like you have to do with most 1st gen tap-in setups ya know other wise breaks would be all mush for a few seconds

 

if youre using the hb, the fb master IS open. Fluid will run right up through it and push a couple hundred psi into the reservoir.

 

I have a Full Throttle for sale, just need the rear caliper no new bolts needed!

wont work that way, or EVERYONE would already do it that way

 

get a cheap rear master off ebay, cut the top off where the brake line bolts on, and weld it to the other master where the reservoir taps in........then all you need is a 60"? line and lever.

 

Thiat is exactly what I did for my 06 gixxer... works great!

Iv'e a pretty good friend that has good luck by takin a spare rear caliper and bracket for the same bike and then he will make a dual caliper set up for his bikes.... Stephan Gruijs... aka wheeley boy, he's a KTM sponsored stuntrider from the NL. He did this on his supermotard, and He even made one up for his 600RR until he got the hohey dual calilper pimpness!

both homemade weld jobs work and are cheaper.. gets ya McGuyver points too.

 

make sure you have a GOOD aluminum TIG welder do your welding.
