Keepin Ur Bike Cool In These Temps

Re: Keepin Ur Bike Cool In These Temps
thats all it should take as long as your cooling system is complete and working right....overflow bottles are often times thrown away when people go street fighter and i think that is a very important part of the cooling system

Re: Keepin Ur Bike Cool In These Temps
I actually made sure mine went on when we put it together! I seen too many bikes pissing coolant after an hour at the lot. Plus the guys I ride with can tell ya I ride for like 2-3 hours straight without shutting down for anything!

Re: Keepin Ur Bike Cool In These Temps
replace the radiator,
if you overheat your bike a bunch, the aluminum core ends up shrinking down, preventing water flow...
it happens from multiple hear cycles threw out time, cold hot cold hot...
if your radiator is in that condition it doesn't matter what you do, the ****** will over heat all the time...
i learned that years ago,
we ended up replacing the motor on a bike thinking it was engine problem..
started back up and still overheated...
talked with a radiator guy who told me about the core constriction...
i replace my radiators once a year from doing so many burnouts..

Re: Keepin Ur Bike Cool In These Temps
I've had good luck with Liquid Performance (like engine ice, but orange).
Supposed to make the bike run like 20 deg cooler than engine ice...not sure about that, but works well either way. And def combine it with a fan that at least runs with the key on.

Switch on fan, engine ice or equivalent, and Muzzy makes a fan blade for most bikes that moves more air. You simply take off your fan, remove the stock blade, and put on the new one.

And of course take it for a couple of quick laps to get the air circulating.

Re: Keepin Ur Bike Cool In These Temps
never tried engine ice.. you gotta flush it more frequently than regular coolant.
just put in new coolant and make sure your cooling system is all good like stated above.. i had a 03 600rr that **** ran hot as **** even in cold weather.. flushed the coolant and the resevoir ran a lil cooler but still that bike like constantly stayed at 190*Farenheit.. the 929 i have now only gets up to 200+ at loong red light on suuper hot days. other than that its usually under 200..
if you ever see 230+ on ur gauges just pull over and chill or just go real fast
i forgot to mention that today i saw a guy wearing black jeans black boots a sweater and a jacket in almost 100* weather... WTF!
