there's a huge recall on those speedo's...i have an 04 1000rr as well that is a mile off.....if you have a clean title you can go to a honda shop and do the recall....i have a salvaged title too....

 

Ok just googled it and there was a recall on the 2004's. Apparently there is a computer glitch that causes the gauge to read 25% under the actual speed. Now I gotta see if I can get me a new gauge cluster.

damn it! it has to be a clean title? I guess I'm assed out on that one. I thought they had to swap them out no matter what? Arent they putting people at risk by manufacturing a faulty product?

 

yeah i thought about that but figured i'd recommend it anyway. if the recall doesn't pan out, try looking for a used gauge on the 1000RR.net forum. lots of **** on there. thats where i buy used stuff for my 06.
