sprockets

Which Sprockets should I put on my 2007 GSXR 750 to make clutching a wheelie the easiest. I don't know too much about gearing and the -1/+13 **** so if someone could first off go easy on me on this thread and secondly give me an easy explanation on what it means aka gearing for newbs. Thanks

Re: sprockets

your 750 should lift up pretty easy with stock gearing, even just a power wheelie, clutch up shouldn't be a problem. that being said, a lot of guys around here to maintain decent street use will go -1/+2. the -1 is the amount of teeth you drop in the front sprocket and +2 is the teeth you go up in the rear sprocket. how many teeth you throw on the back is gonna depend on what your intentions are, but i'm bettin you don't want to go crazy with it yet...

Re: sprockets

Your bike comes stock with 17/45, which comes out to about 2.64. It should pull up just fine, but -1/+2 never hurts. 16/47 will give you about 2.93. And you'd get to keep your stock chain........

Re: sprockets

so the less i have up front and more i have in the back the slower/easier it is to bring up. Whats the best to learn on? I've gotten the front up a few times but never rode it and that was on my 2006 GSXR 600. Im a little hesitant about tryin it on the 750. So If I could change up the sprockets to make it come up slower that would be great. To wheelie in 2nd do I get it up to 5-6 grand pull the clutch in and then rev it to about 8-9 grand? dumping the clutch as I rev it up??? Thanks to those who gave me good advice!!

Re: sprockets

dude if u just wanna learn how to do wheelies, dont mess with sprockets it will only make it harder to learn. when u put a big sprocket on back it makes your throttle very touchy you will only end up getting you and your bike hurt with a big sprocket. and be carefull some of these guys like to mess with new guys telling them to buy 70 tooth sprockets and such

slower means getting it higher and learning your rear brake... -1/+2 is the most id go, learning. unless u wanna do circles or cruise on the highway, then -2/+29 combo is :YEAH
