coasters........time to try em, tips?
So Im rocking a steady 4 circles and I realized I can't even do a ******* coaster. Time to change that. To start off I would like to do them staggered. 1st gear rip a wheelie, get past bp, pull in clutch, then what the hell do I expect? The front to slam to the ground? My sub frame to cry?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I can't do them, but I would imagine you will need to use the rear break to stay as close to behind balance point as possible without going under. I believe your break inputs will need to be a bit stronger than being in a gear due to no engine break.

I learned them sit down because thats where im most comfortable, may be different for you. start off slow. first gear bring the bike up and watch your forks. when they are parallel with the ground pull in the clutch. you dont have to be hauling *** at this point. your just wanting to learn what brake input is going to keep the bike up and not make it slam forward. dont stab the brake just massage it. coasters are a finess trick. just like no handers, your not standing on the brake your using the brake. on off on off. your body should be as still as possible. when learning your bike will probably come back to far and hit the bar (mine did quite a few times.) once you have pulled the clutch in a few times you will realize its not really as bad as you would think. its one of my favorite tricks. its also a hard trick to explain with a keyboard as im finding out right now.
everything should be smooth at this point, you will see guys that know how to do them good whip it back kind of violent . thats not what you want right now, youll just gorilla scrape and probably wad ***. just come back smooth and pull in the clutch when you get your forks right. youll only be coasting a few feet at a time in the beginning because you will stab the brakes the first few attempts, dont let out of the clutch until you are in front of balance point. if this sounds chopped up its because ive had a few drinks tonite go out and try it and post up what you learned and i can try and explain it further. this typing **** sucks. i learned COASTERS from the level x videos i bought a few years ago. they may help you more than reading through my ramblings.
