It seems like as soon as one person gets one cage from (insert ANY cage manufacturer here) and they have a problem with it, then they bad mouth that specific cage manufacturer to everyone that they can. We have manufacturers that build crash protection that is weaker than some so the crash protection bends and breaks before the bike does. Then we have manufacturers that build crash protection that is stronger than some so the bike bends and breaks before the crash protection does.

It seems like Powers has been getting the wrath for sometime now about his crash protection breaking bikes. What is the happy medium here? Should Powers make cages that bend and break? I don't think so. If you have cages that bend and break then the last useful hit that the cage takes will also break your stator or clutch cover.

I talked to Matt on the phone today and we were talking about the 600RR issue. Hands down this is a race bike with a headlight. And the flat stock style mounting that is common on some of the Powers cages, especially on the 600RR, is to keep the bike from rolling over on the clipons. The piece of the frame on the 600RR that has been in question is only 1/16th of an inch thick. Like the above sentence states, 600RR = race bike!

Powers Stunt Worx has introduced many great products to us. No one can say that Powers wasn't the first to bring us the "SUBCAGE" or "RACE RAILZ!" He was the first! Did anyone bother thanking Matt for his efforts to bring us products that are cutting edge??? Freak no! Everyone justs wants to dog him, and every other cage builder for that matter, for a bad cage here and there. Let's give credit where credit is due. Powers Stunt Worx is now and always will be on all of my bikes. I know what works and I stick with the best!

Yes it's true that sometimes it takes a few weeks to get your orders but if you have every been to the Powers compound then you would know that they are working non-stop when they are there. Matt now has 7 employees working in the shop building crash protection products and he also has 2 great girls in the office answering phones and taking orders to improve his customer service for us. Matt said on the phone today that he "honestly cares about the customer's needs" and he "puts forth every effort possible to get the products out in a timely manner."

I appreciate everything that Powers Stunt Worx has done for me. Come on people, let's give credit where credit is due!

no one ever complained about the subcage or race railz that im aware of so congradulations on that. however the cage design is no good. SI has never broken anyones frame that ive heard of on any bike. its not only the 600rr that it brakes the frames on its also gsxrs(although theyre prone for it anyway). i had a SI on my 600rr and it did exactly what it should do. SI dont "bend" or "break" that ive ever seen. with hard drops they can tweak slightly but so does powers. that bottom line is that mounting it flat to the frame is a bad idea cuz that is a weak spot theres mothing behind it. so thats the trade off for ppl who ride a 600rr or other bikes that have a super low engine mount. id much rather have my bike roll over than have my frame get destroyed. my SI cage didnt even roll my rr when i dumped it at about 30mph, not that im saying its not possible but its not such a huge issue for me that id sacrifice the integrity of my frame to avoid it. the problem with his customer service that i always hear about is them never answering the phone or emails. i dont know from personal experience cuz ive never tried to call. just telling you what the word is.

The 2 powers cages I've had seemed great. The frist one I had didn't take much of a beating because I couldn't really stunt then. The already old and used 2nd one I bought for a 100 bucks impressed me. It finally bent up too bad to take off the bike, but I have no complaints what so ever, its one of the cages I learned to circle with and it took a horrible beating.

 

Quit trying to defend your sponsor! If the 600RR is such a race bike then dont make cages for it...Its that simple....Last time I checked though every bike we ride was a race bike.....636 race bike f4i Race bike GSXR race bike.......I wish i never had that cage it broke a $1200 frame ! The cage was only $200 and you say make weaker stuff that bends?!?!?! Well the cage bent in and thats why I know have a imprint of it on my bike...
Would you put a roll cage in a race car that was going to fold the first time you wreaked? ......out of 10 guys here in ABQ 8 of them ride 600RR's and kill it on them....Tygershark and SI no problems with the 600RR EXPLAIN THAT!

 

You think the 600rr is bad. I don't think it matters what cage you run on the 07/08 zx6. That frame is going to break unless its reinforced.

Well I ordered some powers race railz and they just straight up dont fit, pissed is an understatement but it took forever for them to arrive so will probably take em somewhere that can align it all correctly

Here is a quick story of 2 years ago. I order a powers crash cage for my 929. does not show up for over a month. I call and cancel my order. Powers cage shows up at my door 2 weeks later and with my credit card billed accordingly. Powers wants me(my money) to ship it back. Ehh... Lets just save face here and use the cage. First good fall and the lower mount breaks the bolt and bends the lower bar right into the oil cooler. Bye Bye motor

 

Try letting them know, if it doesn't fit then I'm sure they'll work with you.

My SI cage didn't fit so I sent them some pics and a short video of my problem and they sent me another one for free.

I'm sure Powers will do the same. They need to know because they don't want to send out 20 other cages that don't fit either.

 

haha i cant believe im defending powers on this but i gotta keep it real and say, thats not really their fault. sometimes when the **** cools in the jig it changes shape as it cools and it happens to every cage company out there. the remedy to that situation would prob be to keep every model that you make in your shop and fit em up before you send em out but we all know thats not realistic.

I didnt say nothing bad! Just stated the obvious........It was BRAND NEW and IT DIDNT FIT......what part of that was me? And if its not their fault who's fault is it? Shouldnt you be responssible for quality and control of your own business?

Yes I would put that cage in my car b/c a cage is supposed to give. That's what keeps the rider alive and the car together.
