Unhappy Runnin hot

I was riding my bike around earlier today and i noticed that it was extremely hot. The frame was hot, the frame sliders were hot, everything. When i got home i was just checking everything out but i couldnt find why it would be doing that. I thought that i could be my radiator or something... any ideas?

Re: Runnin hot

well im having the same problem it boiled over last week so i drained and put in the correct radiator fluid and my fan is working but my frame is so ******* hot you can't even touch it. so i got gauges on the way but thinking you can take the cap off and see if its flowing and opening unless the radiator is stuck closed...not sure i think i did that in an old car and found out it was my water pump not thermostat???i don't know but it sucks

Re: Runnin hot

i had the same thing with the 954 i hard wired a switch 2 my fan and it helped it kept it cooler for awhile longer but they tend to run hot at a stand still. i was gona try to put another fan on my **** but it got wrecked and that was the end of the cooling prob and the end of the bike

Re: Runnin hot

When it starts getting past 225 and not going down then start worrying about it.

I have a relay and on/off switch wired to my fan and riding it never really goes over 175. In the lots its usually 200 - 210. Which is a lot better than last year i was always at like 225-230 in lots.

Re: Runnin hot

i dont think it is anything too bad. I rode it last night a good ways and when i got home it was alot cooler than it was earlier that day. I think its just putting off heat... i dont really think my engine is overheating. I guess we'll see when im stranded with a broke *** bike. Bu hopefully that wont happen.

Re: Runnin hot

Its a engine

if it isn't getting hot, something is wrong!

The fan doesn't come on tell 220-230f... that is boiling temp, which is about what your frame gets too

which is why it gets hot! lol

Re: Runnin hot

yeah your frame is gonna get hot in practicing in a lot. real hot. while riding with idle at 3300 on a 95degree day it runs about 215. and starting to spit out the overflow hose. when I do circles and its real hot Ill leave a circle of coolant. unless your bike is pouring out coolant I wouldent worry about it. put some gauges on there real quick and check it. if your radiator is hot its deffentely flowing hot water to it so thats an indication that its flowing properly.. just go tell you start dripping realy heavily. and hopefully you already have your fan hotwired to the key. thats basic rule of stunting
