So Johnny, you are planning on making a subframe for the 05-06's? If so about how much do you think youd charge for one, I may be needing one

Im not going to make compete new subframes, what Im going to do is make parts to re-enforce your stock subframe...Then you can either buy the parts and have them welded on locally, or send me your busted subframe for me to modify...

Basically Im going to make a new rear section to replace the cast part at the back, so you can cut the cast part off right at the welds where it attaches to the square tubing. And I will be also making side plates that are cut to fit the sides, and those will tie into the new rear section to make it all one solid unit with no flex....

I wont have any idea about cost untill I actually draw the parts out in my CAD and have my machinest quote me on cutting them out...And then Id also have to talk to my welder and get a quote on how much to weld each sub..Theres going to be alot of welding envolved...

Well its possible, but very expensive...Because I need really big blocks of 6061 aluminum to make the parts, and you end up only using %25 of the blocks...So your looking at probably $600+, where as I can make these kits for much cheaper...And it should be just about as strong but much lighter...

Id much rather just buy one if someone is already makin something good, however in the past Ive only been dissapointed by other peoples products and forced to make my own...

well the 4 that ive gone through dont happen like that, maybe its because the 905 bar supports that area better...so yeah not so funny. maybe yall should stop gorilla scraping the tail

the 905 bars bracket goes over the top so that wont snap there. so for me that isnt a weak point

Do you have any pics of your bar?

Well then it sounds like your 1 step ahead of me, cause you can just add plates to the sides of your subframe and your done....

Added plates to the sides of mine yesterday.. was in too much of a rush to get the bike back together to take pics.. we shall see how long it lasts..

also... My subframe snapped in the same spot GSE Nick said.. that is the weak spot.. but the end piece is also very weak...

yeah i have an old subframe and bar lying around. ill bolt them up and snap a pic. the 905 bar braces the sides and has a top plate that will keep it from snapping where your boys did. so step one get a 905 bar lol. step too i think is just making braces like i made. yes it would be nice for you to make something fancy and strong but it looks like the bar is half the problem. not sure what the other bars look like but it seems like that only bolt to the sides which would def make it snap where your saying.

Re: 05 636 Subframe (pics, reinforced, info, suggestions)

heres a pic of the 905 bar. notice the flat steel on the top which eliminats the bar and the rear of the sub frame from bending or breaking upwards like when u hit the bar. so now the only place left to fail is the spot ive shown which has been the problem for me. so if you make some sort braces like ive shown and this type bar your in pretty good shape. ill know more towards the end of the season and see if it works. so far so good now. the other spots where its double braced ive never seen a prob. only where it goes single right at the 45 degree bend.

please take into consideration that with these mods its still not a good idea to really beat the bar up like you can on f4is or the 03-04 636
