Re: poll: tail saver? yes/no
get one 4 sure.
my **** cracked even with the big *** piece of wood i had in there.
...i made mine myself, cost about $25 for the metal and about 2 hours of welding/grinding.
it's easier just to buy one, it'll look alot better too!

built my own with a buddy....concealed under the tail so you dont see it, but when you push on the tail its rock solid.
bolts the same as the SI one, but built 6 months earlier than they were available, otherwise I would prolly have an SI on my bike.

Fiberglass can be as strong as concrete.. Hell I think its stronger then steel pound for pound..
Everyone of my friends comes up to my tail, and punches it hard as they can, kick it, jump on it.. It is NOT budging.
My friend flipped my bike about 3 weeks ago, and BENT MY SUBRAME, and RIPPED one of the mounting bolts off my tail, tail plastic is in 1 piece with rash down it!
edit: btw I have 12-15 layers of fiberglass across the section of the tail where you stand, with 4-5 layers in all other parts of teh tail for reinforcement..
Took like a half hour of work, and about $25 in supplies, and other then my bike looking like ****, looks stock..
