No muffler

I was thinking of taking my muffler and exhaust off and just putting a short baffle on with a short exhaust, would there be any problems with this?

No problems except for pissing off people driving by, people in their houses/businesses, cops, you know..

The idea is to be as QUIET as possible.. I've been doing everything I can to get my shorty can silent

Re: No muffler

u will lose lots of back pressure which gives u low end torque, ur throttle response down low wont be as smooth, it will be more on off, shorter cans are bad enough but they look good though!

U cant but some bike shops have a exhaust sensor that can read the emisions coming out of ur bikes exhaust and can set it up better but it will never be as good as a stock can, i would run a stock can or one that has the least amount cut off of it.

Re: No muffler

my cousin just did it on his daytona or w/e.. ****** moron.

little/no backpressure = burnt valves, no low end tq, annoying popping/raspy sound..

one of his buddies at the bike shop convinced him a PC would fix it. Yeah, lets see them valves next riding season.

i think the actual silencer is under the fairings, and all you're seeing is the end pipe on the newer r6's

exactly most if not all of the muffling goes on in that box under there. you can take the slip on off and you wont notice barely any sound difference.

i had to cut my yosh carbon /RS1, no pak in it either..was scraping when hitting 12's, the low back pressure makes the engine bog and sound like it's missing....i'm ordering a silencer insert to help w the noise and create some much needed back pressure to run smoother at cruising speeds...

that chick musta been uglier than a walrus hit by a freight train to balnk it out....don't worry bout the leg herpes...but then again for some of yous the closest thing to sex with her would be to hump her leg off hahah
