636 cct slapping..
i can hear the "can of bb's" sound in my motor at 4-6k, 90% sure it's the cct. got the stock one, can't find a manual one on ebay.
i heard putting the bike in 6th and rolling it backwards can allow enough slack to build up on the chains to pop one more click out... but not sure it works.
anything i can do shy of pulling it out and resetting it?

Re: 636 cct slapping..
if your bike has a rattle caused by the automatic cct then more then likely the cct is broke and needs to be replaced , i suggest an ape cct
as far as rolling your bike backwards you will put a whole hell of alot more slack in the chain just by taching out your bike in first gear and then jumping out of the gas or hard engine braking ,i doubt you can put as much slack on the chain as a hard engine brake simply by rolling your bike backwards...

I think it just needs to be tightened 1 more click.

what normally happens is the teeth that hold the tension bar in place get broke off and that allows it to bounce around making that noise you here , an ape cct is a manual cct and is held in place by a lock nut , they are cheap and i never heard of one failing depending on riding styly they usually only need adjusting about once a year
