Re: Whats happening to the Stoppie game?
I agree. 4 feet is all you need.
But you misunderstood what I was implying. I meant someone is generally not going to do a 1/4 mile wheelie UNLESS they are at the bp... at least for part of the way. That's what I was trying to compare to the stoppie game.
You can probably cheat them to 100'... maybe 150'... but at 200', it probably doesn't matter how fast you start... if you're not near bp at least some of the time I doubt someone would be rolling that distance.
Better explination?

Don't worry.......I know exactly what you meant.

Hey Larry, what about Starboyz next weekend? As long as its at the same place as last year, which I'm sure it is, there is more than enough room for longest stoppie. Whats the reason for them taking it out of that comp?

Re: Whats happening to the Stoppie game?
Where do "real" stoppies start? 100'? 150? more?
Like wheelies... I don't consider chasing bp to be a real wheelie... which would put "real" wheelies at like what... 1/4 mile? You can't chase and still get a 1/4 mile...
So with that analogy... what is the starting real stoppie length... where speed won't roll you the distance, you gotta have height and balance?

if you're rolling equal your approach (100 ft approach - 100 ft roll) then you need to keep practicing.
if you are DOUBLING your approach (100 ft approach - 200 ft roll) you're doing good.
if you are TRIPLING your approach (300 ft approach - 900 ft roll) then you need to be at the next comp.
and yes i agree distance stoppies are WAY gangster. after learning how to roll short ones (50 ft on a good day) i got way more respect for them. way dangerous, they take lots of man ***** to lay into the break at the top of 3rd...and they just look and sound ****** SICK.
MAD PROPS TO THE MAD DISTANCE!

i Think Getting Into Combo's When Doing A Stoppie Will Keep It Alive And Fun To Do And Watch. Regular Stoppies Are Kinda Boring Now Unless The Roll Out For Awhile. My 2cents

Re: Whats happening to the Stoppie game?
there is no substitute for longest stoppie and like i said before if there is no longest stoppie event at stunt comps any more then stunting just got gay

Re: Whats happening to the Stoppie game?
how many cats do you see combo'ing stoppies? very few besides maybe going to spreader......why? because it takes enough concentration just to keep it rolling at a good height. they may look easy but they are definately not. go practice you will see.

Re: Whats happening to the Stoppie game?
I agree with OMR. Long stoppies are sick and without it, stunt comps would be lame. I can wheelie and do pop-a-stoppies but I'd never consider myself a stunter until I could roll out a stoppie a decent distance. It is what seperates me, a sportbike rider, and the ***** too big to walk stunters that roll stoppies out 300+ feet. It shows who is willing to be on the edge and truely push the limits with the longest stoppie comp. Without it in the comps, I think I'd rather watch the superbike races, they wheelie and wreck too.
