Front Fork Fluid Levels

I had to replace a friends fork seals tonight.. on a 04 636.. I couldnt find any info on the net to find out how much fluid to put in each fork.. I ended up taking a guess and put in 380 cc's...

Anyone know the proper fluid amounts per fork?

Im assuming the 05 636 would be the same as well.. I will have to replace mine soon as well!!

115 ml from the top should be fine.....check it using a draw off tool.......fork compressed with the spring out.....make sure to pump your dampening rod a few times to bleed out any air...

Re: Front Fork Fluid Levels

thanks..

I took the forks about from the bottom though.. took out the screw, slid them apart.. took out the dust cap, took out the clamp, took out the seal, poored out all the oil, then poor 380cc of oil in, then put it back together..

theres no way 115 ml is enough oil once you cange the oil as well.. im assuming you kept the same fork oil in and just changed the seals? then topped it up??

how much fork oil if your replace all of the oil?

The shop manual for an 03-04 zx-6r - 360 cc (ml)

couldnt not find any info on the 636....

The interent specs page i found said 400cc's for the same bike..

So i figured it was similar enough.. so i said 380, basicaly slpit the 2 bits of information i found in half..

I'd have to guess and say that if the shop manual said that... then that's the number you're looking for. No? Do they not have the same front end, or something very similar?
