1000RR Frontend on F4i

I just picked up an F4i and im wanting to swap the front end asap. Just wanted to get some info from everyone before i started buying ****. I had a 954 frontend on my old f4i and i was satisfied with it but i just wanted to do something different this time. Is there a difference between 1000rr & 600rr

I was thinking of a 1000rr frontend on it? good or bad?

Is there anything i should know before getting into it?

I heard ppl use 954 lower triple for the clearance. yes? no?

we just did joses boy andres...... **** came out sick...... the only downfall to the 1krr is the week front wheel.... but u can run a 929 or 954 wheel......if i were going to do it again i would run a 1krr or rc51 front end with 929 lower and hohey top triple....

I kind of wanted to avoid doing that. You think if i go with the 954/929 lower triple, it will avoid that problem?

So your satisfied with it? No problems such as tiring rubbing radiator or turning problems?

Re: 1000RR Frontend on F4i

if you do use all 1000rr parts it'll rub.. This is good cause I wanted to 1000rr but I didn't know there was a fix to the tire rubbing problem

Yes I liked the setup I had. I tried clipons but was not happy as the 1krr forks are shorter and with clipons I felt like I was leaning way too far forward. I will say this, I tried the 929/54 lower triple with the 1krr top triple and it seemed that the rake was different, as soon as I slapped an rc51 top triple on everything lined up good. I had no problem with my tire rubbing the radiator.

Are you talking about the steering stops?

If so, make sure you install new ones!

If your bike goes flipping across the lot, without steering stops.. Expect your tank and/or frame to get dented to ****

Re: 1000RR Frontend on F4i

i have a 1000rr front end i want to put on...how can i avoid the tire rubbing? ive heard of moving the radiator back but how do you do that with the bracket on the bottom?

and is the 954 lower triple the same width as the 1000rr lower? i heard if you use 954 lower that you would have to use a 954 wheel or axel too?

and how much do you grind down the steering stops exactly on a 1000rr lower triple if youre not supposed to grind them off completely?

what is the advantage of using rc51 top tripple? does it give more room to run clip ons on top?
